I just got into Lana Del Rey (by accident) on the Tag Honeymoon dropped. I did a YouTube Suchen for the Weeknd ' s Prisoner (ft. Lana Del Rey) and I was busy doing something else, and the Weiter video that came on was the full Born to Die album. About 20 Minuten into it, I realized that I loved it -- albeit 3 years late. Then, I went onto Google Play to hear samples of all her music. I was instantly in Liebe with every song on Born to Die, Ultrviolence, and Honeymoon. I purchased and downloaded all three albums onto every smart phone and tablet I own. Her voice is amazing, full of peculiar range...
[i][Lana del Rey] I like Du a lot Putting on my Musik while I’m watching the boys So I do what Du want Singen soft grunge just to soak up the noise We're ribbons on ice Playing their guitars, only one of my toys Cause I like Du a lot No holds barred, I’ve been sent to destroy, yeah
rosa flamingos, always fascinated me I know what only the girls know Farben with lies begin to mean Oh, oh, I see you're going So-o-o-o I play my music, watch Du leave
He used to call me DN That stood for deadly nightshade Cause I was filled with poison But blessed with beauty and rage Jim told me that He hit me and it felt like a kiss Jim brought me back Reminded me of when we were kids
This is ultraviolence Ultraviolence Ultraviolence Ultraviolence I can hear sirens, sirens He hit me and it felt like a kiss I can hear violins, violins
[i][Verse 1] They say I'm too young to Liebe you I don't know what I need They think I don't understand The freedom land of the seventies I think I'm too cool to know ya Du say I'm like the ice I freeze I'm churning out novels like Beat Poesie on Amphetamines I say I say
[Chorus] Well, my boyfriend's in the band He plays gitarre while I sing Lou Reed I've got feathers in my hair I get down to Beat poetry
The Minute Du walked in the joint I could see Du were a man of distinction, a real big spender Good lookin’, so refined Say, wouldn’t Du like to know what’s goin’ on
[Verse 1] SM your boy Smiler iced out Paid da cost to floss what’s the price now? Fresh out the gutter, the city begged me to rep it Cuzzie I came with collateral, getters get me so f’ it I’ma (spender)
[i]I told Du not to go into the woods, I told Du that he wasn't any good. I told Du not to go into the woods, I told Du that he wasn't any good.
I'll take the wrong path, I think I'll go a little off track. And now there's no way back, Du took all the apples that I had. But I herz Du and I wanna be your girl. I herz Du and I know you'll rock my world.
'Cause Du rock, rock, rock, rock, rock Du know that I want what Du got.
Lust for Life is her most ambitious album yet, and as Lana explains in her third Complex cover appearance, it emerged from a period of self-examination that, when it ended, left her "looking at everything else" the world has to offer.
