I'm a junior in high school and this semester I decided to take an online course called Young Adult Literature. For this class, we were required to read Of Mice and Men, and I ended up loving this story. Now for one of our final assignments, we were told to write a letter to the Autor of our Favorit book that we have read this semester. I choose John Steinbeck's novel, but I obviously can't write a letter to him. My teacher suggested I write to a John Steinbeck Fan club, so this I what I am doing now, although I don't know if this is the right way of Schreiben to Du oder even if this is 'the' Fan club to write to!
When I first heard that we would be Lesen Of Mice and Men, I didn't really know what to expect. All I knew of the story was that it was an old classic and that it had been made into a movie that I had never seen. As I read it, I found the characters interesting and kind of deep. I loved the strong bond between George and Lennie, and although George's feelings toward Lennie were sometimes mixed, Du knew that George deeply loved Lennie as if he were his own brother. I don't cry over Bücher and Filme very often, but I did for the end of this book. The conclusion was not what I had predicted it to be!
I liked Steinbeck's book because the Schreiben and the characters were so real. The setting was very believable, and the characters were so understandable. It was great how the story evoked strong emotions. The best part of the book was the un-anticipated ending.
