he was in a fight with 3 idiot bullies ,during that he was covered in bleach and alocohol (i think i spelled it wrong) he was then burned alive Von that because one of the bullies had a lighter (that is why he has long black hair and white skin) he went Home after he was in the hospital for weeks cause of the fight ,Jeff didn't want to stop smiling at his beautiful face and didn't want to stop looking at himself in the mirror so he carved a smile onto his face and burnt off his eyelids. that is why Jeff looks so BEAUTIFUL and NOT deformed. if Du don't believe me look it up on the story.
When Jeff went insane, he carved a smile with a messer into his face and burned away his eyelids with a lighter, and from now on kills people with that same knife... Although his body is not deformed... Hope that helped :)
Well Du see, Jeff went fucking insane and carved a smile into his face because he could never find happiness. He burned his eyelids off with a match not a lighter. He got surgery to remove his nose so he would look fucking insane. There Du have it folks

He was attacked Von some kids and they burned his face while he was at his "welcome to the neighborhood" party, he also cut the sides of his face to make him smile all the time
