While the newly released single of Seo Taiji and IU is getting much Liebe from everyone, it is also bringing suspicions of plagiarism.
On September 2nd, Seo Taiji and IU released their collaboration track, “Sogyeokdong,” bringing Liebe and joy to the Fans of both IU and Seo Taiji. Even now the song is sweeping through various Korean charts, topping in all of them.

Seo Taiji’s comeback is highly anticipated in Korea as it is his first return in five years.

But even in the midst of its high popularity, it was almost inevitable that the song would face plagiarism suspicions. Some netizens are suspecting that Seo Taiji plagiarized from Scottish duo Chvrches, and now the Debatte is heating up on the internet.

In many cases of Synth-Pop bands like Chvrches, synthesizers take a huge part in the genre itself, and this might have brought the suspicion of Seo Taiji’s plagiarism.

Seo Taiji’s company responded to the suspicion Von asking the audience to listen Seo Taiji’s version of “Sogyeokdong,” due to its significant difference from that of IU’s.

What do Du think on the situation?
