Idris Elba's collaboration with Superdry puts the "luxe" in "sports luxe"
Fewer high street collaborations have been more anticipated here at
HQ than the one between Superdry and Idris Elba - a line that we\'ve all been looking forward to since it was announced at the beginning of the year. As one of the best-dressed sons of Britain, we were intrigued to see how the actor would bring his signature laid-back style to the sporty superbrand. Needless to say we were first in line to see the collection get revealed at the start of London Collections Men, however now we can bring you a first look at the line - and there\'s not a blurry fashion week Instagram shot in sight.
Take a look below and you\'ll see that the USP of the 250-piece collection is that it\'s the sleekest one Superdry\'s produced to date. Dominant colours across the line are dark ones like navy, claret, charcoal grey and black, splashed across the kind of go-anywhere items every man needs in his autumn armoury: biker jackets, joggers, tailored topcoats, henleys, jeans, T-shirts, and slim chinos.
Of course, this being Superdry, there\'s a strong showing of the brand\'s signature hoodie - but in a more pared-back design (note the lack of pull-ties at neck level) with the collection\'s IE branding front-and-centre.
However what really takes this collection into high-end territory is the materials used throughout: nubuck leathers, cashmere and organic cotton. In short it\'s the kind of fabrication that oputs the "luxe" into "sports luxe".
See some of the strongest looks from the line below, then keep your eyes open on your local outpost for the collection - it\'s set to land in shops up and down the country this November...
T-shirts from £30. Sweats from £75. Underwear from £20. Shirts from £75. Jackets, £95 - £450. Available in store and online at Superdry from November.
