For Fanpop's third annual Human Rights Awareness month, which I have organized every Jahr since 2008 (OK, for two years), I am going to do...
Absolutely nothing.
And I am terribly guilty about it. oder I was. I'm disgustingly busy this year, so much that I barely have time to Fanpop at all, let alone head an entire campaign that, let's be honest, only a handful of people on Fanpop really care about anyway.
But I know that the people Lesen this Artikel are part of that handful of people who do care about Human Rights, and about HRAM on Fanpop this December, and were maybe even wondering, "Hey, how come Cinders hasn't made a peep about HRAM and it's already the sixth of December?" (Sappp, I'm thinking of you).
So for those of Du who do care, I want to say this - thank you. And I want to say that I don't feel guilty about not doing much for HRAM this Jahr because I'm worried that people will forget about Human Rights, oder won't appreciate it as much without HRAM (like that ever happened anyway). I'm sad because I'm letting the few people who DID enjoy HRAM, and DID think Mehr about helping out our fellow human beings this month, down.
So to you, I wanted to say - don't despair! Change your icon, change your motto, change your attitude, and go out on Fanpop (and off of it) and make a difference in someone's life. As our slogans of the past have often stated, spread hope this season. Remember that December is that time of Jahr that regardless of your religious creed, Du think about those who are less lucky than Du are, who have less than you, and yet are doing the best with it. And while this is something I try to remember all year, because people need Liebe all Jahr round, it's something I especially like to emphasize during this season.
To those of Du Lesen this that, HRAM oder not, always go out this time of year, oder any other time, and help those who need it, love those who need it, to Du I say - kudos. Du are marvelous human beings who don't get the credit Du deserve, and are maybe even stepped on oder insulted for whatever reason. But Du have hope in your heart, and that's admirable.
And to those who are Lesen this Artikel just for kicks and giggles, who think December is a time for commercialism and over-indulgence, I say - FEEL GUILTY. That's right, I'm not afraid to play the guilt card. I feel guilty, so Du should too. Hanukkah and Weihnachten and the Kürzlich Eid are all wonderful celebrations and times for family and gift receiving, but remember that "family" are not just your blood oder your best friends. Family is the human race, and it's important to be aware that the world is not always kind, and not always fair, and not always generous, but there is beauty there, and I dare Du to go out there and find it where Du least expect it to be.
For now, that is all. Expect another Artikel from me in the future about the strides we have made this Jahr in human rights achievements.
Dates to remember this season:
December 1: World AIDS Day
December 2: International Tag for Abolition of Slavery
December 3: International Tag for Persons With Disabilities
December 6: Canada's Tag of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
December 9: International Anti-Corruption Day
December 10: International Human Rights Day
December 15: Bill of Rights Tag (United States)
December 16: Tag of Reconciliation (South Africa)
December 17: International Tag to End Violence Against Sex Workers
December 18: International Migrants Day
And don't even get me STARTED on why I haven't launched Fanpop Secret Santa this year.
