Episode 3: Over and Again

Buzzzzzzz...Buzzzzzzz... Wilson felt a vibration is his suits’ pants pocket. His hand slid over the oben, nach oben of the pants and griped the phone, silencing the vibrating sound.
“Dr. Wilson!” A stern voice called again, “Dr. Wilson, we WILL continue without Du if Du have other, Mehr important business to attend to.”

Wilson shot his head from his pocket to the podium and upon a grey haired judge whose eyes were distinctly burning through his own. He stumbled to find words to put with the fact that he DID NOT want to go to jail. His lip burst with a sharp pain as he bit it to keep in the smart retort in. Instead, he shook his head from shoulder to shoulder issuing an answer. “No your honor, I’m sorry.” After a short pause and an unsure nod from the judge, both Wilson’s and his soon to be ex-wife’s attorneys began to argue again.

Again and again, the phone vibrated. And Wilson did nothing.

Cuddy sat in House’s office alone, her eyes filled with the tears that were also streaming down her face. Between the sniffles and the heavy breathing, she closed the phone for the eighth time, coming to the conclusion that Wilson was not going to answer it. Moving her hand towards her face, she felt the cold plastic of the cell phone on her lips, and closed her eyes tightly, not wanting to think about anything that had happened in the last hour. Time drifted and soon, thoughts of wreckage and firelights turned to pure blackness.

Footsteps coming down the empty corridor awoke Cuddy. She clutched the phone, which still sat in her left hand and glanced at her wristwatch. Only fifteen Minuten had passed. She let out a sigh and tears began reforming around her eyes.

“Hey…” Archie was excellent at calming people down, and this time his technique was again right on. His voice was soft, like his eyes, which were now locked on Cuddy’s. Without a word, Cuddy stood from the swiveling tan chair and wrapped her arms around Archie’s neck. Archie moved his hands around Cuddy’s head on his shoulder and stroked her hair. He could feel her tears as they soaked into his lab coat, this only made him hug her tighter. “Sometimes we just have to believe.”

Outside the clouds gathered, still slipping flakes through course channels in the air. Smoke was scarce and drawn away Von the snow still. Flickering flames danced around, strangled and taunted Von the lack of oxygen, and soon, vanished. As three ambulances turned out of the bay, their sirens grew faint as they blended in with the chaotic noise of the city. A crew of firemen, bearing classic black, white, and yellow attire, gathered remaining debris, and like twigs in a forest, threw the chunks of metal aloft in a construction truck. Minuten passed, speeding like a broken tape player, blurring the figures as they moved about, before long, the figures vanished, as did any evidence of a tragedy. Then, the bucht was as normal as it had ever been.

Brown hair waved with the movement of a body, bouncing roughly against a women’s neck. She strode with purpose, not in any way as elegant as usual. Cuddy took in breath as flashes cut into her mind.

“Sometimes we just have to believe.”…

A black light saturated her eyes, moving from her forehead to her nose.

Glass sounded against a soft pair of knuckles. A man in surgical green Scrubs drew his mask down from his face, revealing blonde pfirsich fuzz. His eyes bottled with sadness, and his face was as pale as his golden hair. Attending to the blood stains on his shit, he glanced down, not wanting to look Cuddy in the eyes. “we have causalities."

She blinked again, moving her mind unwillingly forward.

In silence, the three stirred through the basement hall, approaching the cold steal of morgue door. Cuddy, finding it hard to breathe, moved her lungs in arrhythmatic fashion, preparing for the worst. Chase opened the door, illuminating four masses…four dead bodies. Cuddy’s eyes drew instantly to a figure lying against the cement floor, a wooden cane, broken in two….She gasped.
