Dogs can't control gadgets or do the amazing things they did. well, if they were complete dumbbells then the movie wouldn't be any good. Anyway, I think this is my new favorite movie. I LOVe Hotel for Dogs. I made this spot.

dogs control gadgets like these all the time. Those were real dogs in the movie controlling those things- not all computer graphics. They actually manufacture some of those gadgets for dogs. dogs are smarter than hoses and even horses can work their automatic water machines (they have to press a button to get water) for dogs they have automatic feeders similar to the vending machine seen in the movie. The dogs press a button and get food they can learn in the lab to press different buttons to get different foods. what the dogs did in the movie wasn't anything extraordinary as far as learning and intelligence goes either, even fish can do that kind of learning, but they can do it-> I've seen animals with less intelligence (or so some people say depends how you're measuring it, but in this case) do some of this stuff. And no not all the dogs would have been able to figure that stuff out, different breeds are smarter than others the border collie would be second smartest just following the shaggy dog- both are herding animals. But the automatic feeder and automatic fetch gadget have been around for a few years now for dogs. :D

I know they can learn it, but they can't all learn how to do everyhting on the first try. It would take a lot of time and training to show them how to work everything. It was all too organized.
