I don't think they were so important as everyone seems to think. They were a good band but way too overrated.

You're not alone, I'm a Fan of many metal bands and also the Beatles. I Liebe quite a few classic rock bands, and even though the majority of my favourite bands and musicians fall into some sort of rock genre, I can enjoy other genres of Musik too (a couple of other favourite genres of mine are jazz and classical).
