It really depends on your taste. I Liebe lamm of God, Pantera, White Zombie, Down, and a butt load more!!!! If your really into Slipknot Du might like MushroomHead, Motograter, Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Sepultura, and maybe even some Hatebreed (they kick ass)!!!! Good Luck dude and keep searching for great music, cuz there's a LOT out their!!!! ;)

Metallica's 80s albums will blow Du away.


otherwise I suggest Disturbed,Iron maiden,Megadeth and Judas priest.

Slipknot is NOT heavy metal, it's screamo.
Du want heavy metal, there's no better then Black Sabbath. Metallica is good too. I don't like them much, but they're good.

Iron Maiden is my Favorit metal band, but close behind it is Wintersun, a metal band which has released only one album but has written some of the best songs I have ever heard.

Heavy Metal is the real music, Slipknot is nu-metal which I find horrible.
Try listening to some old metal. That's true metal.

Well since you're new to the genre start with Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Label Society, and of course, Metallica. There are several sub-genres of metal including black, death, symphonic, glam, hair, nu, and others. Just kind of fisch around until Du find what Du like and think is really good.

The “oldies” are the best in my opinion. Out of my experience bands like these are good: Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, Pistolen N' Roses, Machine Head, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Electric Wizard (If Du want to class it as heavy metal...), Death Angel. There are many more!
