Did the protection aroung Hogwarts dissapear when Dumbledore died?

And anyway, I don't think it did and I don't think that spell was put there Von Dumbledore. After Dumbles died in HPB, the Death Eaters had to run off the grounds. They couldn't apparate then.

I don't think the protection spells around Hogwarts would disappear with the death of the Headmaster/Headmistress. True they were tied to the castle's magic but I'd rather think that the protection spells are inherent to the schloss itself. Bri-marie pointed out an essential fact that should sort the matter out, at least for the short period between Dumbledore's demise and the take over of the school Von the Death-Eaters.

As for what had happened in HP7, let's do not forget that the Todesser and a Ministry led Von Voldemort, had taken over the school. Severus was the Headmaster, the Carrows were his Deputies, they might have tampered with the castle's magic. Who knows ?

no the protection was created Von all of the teachers together, not just dumbledore, in fact i have no doubt flitwick constantly keeps renewing them being the charms teacher he probably was responsible for most of the protective charms around the castle

Umm, Harry, Ron and Hermione didn't Apparate into the school grounds. Are Du implying to the seventh book? They Apparated to Hogsmeade. And I don't think that the protections around Hogwarts disappeared when Dumbledore died, because I suppose the protective magic was there even before Dumbledore.
