What does ''I open at the close'' means?

Du have to read the book... between the lines.

There's a relationship between the "close" and the "going to die". Death is just the passage between an end and a beginning. Remember what Dumbledore sagte : "To the well organized mind, death is but the Weiter great adventure." He saw death as a beginning, the beginning of a new adventure.

He had gegeben the Snitch to Harry as a bequest. Obviously, he's the one that Verzaubert it to "open at the close", first with the writings, and when the end is close indeed, when Harry sagte "I'm going to die". Saying so, Harry is indeed at the "close" of his life. Hence the Snitch opening itself to free... ah no, I won't spoil it for Du !

Read the chapter in question, even several times and you'll see, you'll get it ! (It worked for me.)

'I open at the close' means that the snitch will open and reveal the resurection stone when Harry is about to die. The 'close' is death, as death is the closing of life. So when Harry says 'I am about to die' it opens, as he is nearing the close

The "close" being referred to is the end of the book and the close of the Harry Potter saga. The opening is pretty much self explanatory. JKR wants Du to think the close is death but my explanation is better. ;)

I am pretty sure it means "I open when things are going wrong" like when Hagrid sagte that he was going to die. Therefore, I am guessing that "the close" means "the bad oder the uncontrollable things."

"The Close" means:

"I open at the close" as many of us allready said,simply means that the Snitch opens in Du dying moment oder when Du know Du are about to die.
Simple as anything.

It means that the Snitch will open when Harry is about to die. "The close" is considered as being the end of Harry's life.
