Being a biker. Is it easier sagte than done? What makes a biker? I am 55, my wife and I have rode since we got married in '75. We started on a Kawaski 440Ltd, then a 750Ltd. Because that is what a young family man could afford. My dream was to own a Harley, a piece of American Motorcycle history. At age 50 I got my dream, a '02 SoftTail Springer, that is now paid off. My job is that of a High School Social Studies Teacher. I ride to school, have tats, listen to rock n roll, wear whats left of my hair long, unfortunately I have a graying beard and am known as the school hippie, my room is decorated with dream catchers, Harley stickers on the windows, etc. So What makes a biker? Anyone who rides for the Liebe of it, is happier on two wheels that confined Von four. It knows no age oder gender, it knows no job oder life style. We both are teachers, I have my masters in School Administration and we are bikers. There is a comaradry among bikers, they meet and greet and look out for each other. Don't get me wrong, I am also a gearhead and a Chevy man, having owned over 84 cars & trucks since high school (1972), I now own a '73 SS Chevelle 454, a '66 Impala SS & a '40 Ford Tudor, yeah a Ford, o'well. But through all those numbers, my passion is a Black Harley Springer. All those others may come and go but not "The Springer", it stays with me, period. So does this make me a biker. Du betcha. I hope this finds others that have a similar story.
"THE JOURNEY",
it has to involve two wheels and open asphalt.
