How long of a time span has Grey's been?

Since it's series opener to the end of season 5.. how many years has it been?

2 years. Some people think it's been 5 but that's wrong. Because they'll be third Jahr residents soon but I think they have one Mehr season of 2nd years because there were 3 seasons of interns.
