'Fear the Walking Dead': Robert Kirkman promises 'awesome boat stuff' in season 2

, they were planning to escape the zombie hordes by boarding the Abigail, a well-appointed yacht owned by the enigmatic Victor Strand (Colman Domingo). But judging from an exclusive new teaser, the second season of the AMC drama will be anything but smooth sailing.

In the ominous video, Madison (Kim Dickens), Travis (Cliff Curtis), Daniel (Ruben Blades), and the gang encounter a raft teeming with survivors, and then things get complicated. Guns are drawn, someone goes overboard, and Travis takes drastic action.

showrunner Dave Erickson told EW to expect during an interview last October.

“You’re going to see a bunch of seabound refugees over the course of season 2,” he said. “And much in the same way that we have taken steps to survive and compromised our morals to do so, we’re going to have to deal with some people who have very similar objectives, and the default setting for most of these people is not going to be, let’s all live in harmony and try to build a new community. It’s going to be, how do we protect what’s ours? How do we protect our family? So there’s going to be a very serious threat from other people, as there is constantly on

returns April 10 on AMC. The first seven episodes will air in the spring, with the remaining eight airing later in 2016.
