Kowalski ran up to Emma with a bucket of water, and tipped it on her burning flipper, than he quickly turned of the welding torch, before it caught anything else on fire. Emma looked at her injured flipper, and the flamed died, away, and smoke was rising up into the air. Kowalski rushed back up to her, and sat her down on a chair.
"Are Du ok? Your not hurt are you?" He asked worry in his eyes. Emma looked down at her flipper, and pushed the feathers away gently, her skin was scalded and burnt. She flinched at the sight of it.
"Ouch!" Kowalski gasped, looking concerned. Emma didn't say any words because she knew if she opened her mouth, she'd just make a painful noise. Kowalski was looking thoughtful. "I think I've got some antiseptic cream for burns somewhere." he thought aloud. He got up, and started searching one of the drawers. Emma looked back at her flipper and closed her eyes. It was burning like it was still on fire. Kowalski came back, looking worried.
"What's up?" Emma managed.
"This cream has to be rubbed directly at the Quelle of the pain, as in your flipper." Kowalski explained gravely. Emma looked scared, and her eyes fell on her flipper, then the cream. She looked around, quickly, and shot out of the chair like lightening, and headed for the door. Kowalski stopped her. "Em, I know Du don't want to put it on, but it'll eventually make the pain go away, and heal it." Kowalski said, standing in front of the door.
"But it's going to hurt even more." Emma mumbled, looking upset.
"I know, but it will make Du better." Kowalski replied, gently, sitting Emma back down again. "Now do Du want to rub it in?" He asked. Emma shook her head. "Ok, I will then, but I warn Du Em, it's going to hurt badly for a few minutes." He said, getting a chair, and sitting down opposite her. He got the little tube, and squeezed some of it out onto his flipper. "Are Du ready?" He asked. Emma took a deep breath and nodded. He put the cream onto her flipper, and she screamed in pain. He started rubbing it in, and Emma's breathing sped up, and tears started falling from her eyes. Kowalski hated seeing her like this. He took her other flipper, and squeezed it gently. Emma squeezed it back, and closed her eyes, still sobbing, and making sniffling sounds. Kowalski looked at her sadly. After a few painful minutes, it was all over.
"Is.. is it done?" Emma asked standing up, trying to wipe her tears away.
"Well Du might need a little bandage over it, so it can heal but yes it's over." Kowalski answered standing up too and, wiping the tears from her eyes. He quickly wrapped a little bandage around her flipper, and and looked at her with worry. He felt terrible for putting her through that much pain. "Em, I'm sorry about that, I didn't want Du to have to-" He got cut off, Von Emma who wrapped her flippers around him, and hugged him tightly. He was took Von surprise, but he hugged her back gently. She rested her head on his chest and stopped crying. He ran a flipper through her feathers, and down the back of her neck, making a happy shiver run down Emma's spine. Her herz fluttered in her chest, and she stroked his cheek with her better flipper, and it was Kowalski's turn to shiver in happiness. They both didn't want to pull away, they were too happy, and comfy with eachother. They kept hugging for about five minutes, feeling comforted, safe, sicher and content in each other's flippers. Emma couldn't help noticing that he didn't smell like fisch like the other penguins, but of much nicer smells, like wood smoke, fresh grass, freshly made bread, and cooking bacon. (In other words, all of her favourite smells) She remembered what she has sagte about not going out with another person immediately after she had been dumped, so she pulled away reluctantly and Kowalski did too. Emma only just realised that she was blushing.
"I want to but I can't-" Emma began to explain, before Kowalski stopped her.
"I know." He sagte gently, his face full of understanding. "C'mon, do Du want to carry on with the invention?" He asked.
"Sure." Emma answered, still feeling tingly. She was beaming as she picked up the screwdriver, and began to work on the disc. Her flipper was still hurting a bit, but it was wearing off now. Kowalski picked up another screwdriver, and worked on the outer casing, humming away to the Musik that was still playing in the background. Emma couldn't stop smiling, and her herz was still beating really fast. Kowalski looked up at her, a smiled. He was still blushing a bit, and his whole body was tingling happily. As he worked, he kept looking up every few minutes, he focused on her eyes, They were the most beautiful, shade of blue he had ever seen, a shiny midnight blue and they seemed to sparkle and twinkle. He looked at her jet black hair feathers, and he thought of how soft and warm they were. (well all of her feathers were) Meanwhile Emma was thinking extremely similar thoughts about Kowalski. She thought about how shiny his beak was and how his smile was so sweet and cute. It really made his handsome features look even nicer. After a while Skipper shouted them, and their brains returned to reality.
"Emma, Kowalski get in here!" He ordered. Emma went over to her phone, and turned the Musik off, before putting it in her drawstring bag. The two penguins came out the lab, and Emma forced herself to stop smiling so widely.
"What's up Skips." Emma asked curiously. Skipper was about to answer, but then his eyes fell on Emma's bandage.
"What happened to your flipper?" He asked.
"Oh we had a bit of trouble with the welding torch but it's ok now." Emma answered calmly.
"Hmmm, ok." Skipper remarked. "So anyway, we have a mission." Skipper began. "Someone in the zoo has been stealing, and throwing Essen at some of the Tiere and we need to find out who it is." He explained.
"Well won't it be the animal who's habitat hasn't been affected?" Private asked.
"You'd think so, but all of the Tiere habitat's have been disrupted, including ours." Skipper explained gravely.
"Why, nothing's been stolen from us has it?" Emma asked, looking worried.
"No but our habitat has been pelted with Obst and fish." Skipper replied, looking annoyed.
"Are we sure it's an animal in the zoo?" Kowalski asked.
"Yes definatley." Skipper answered firmly. "Now everyone is at the Zoovenir Shop so lets go team." Skipper announced, climbing up the ladder, and opening the fishbowl. The others followed him, and they made their way to the shop.
"Are Du ok? Your not hurt are you?" He asked worry in his eyes. Emma looked down at her flipper, and pushed the feathers away gently, her skin was scalded and burnt. She flinched at the sight of it.
