Olivine So there's a pick and I try to explain my opinion. Then someone comes and say they disagree. I give further explanations. Someone else comes and state they disagree as well...I'm at the point where I want to bang my head against the wall just a little bit. xD

The Importance of Good Spelling and Grammar

Dictionaries are a handy tool.

One thing that's becoming Mehr and Mehr prominent as time goes on, is that people online don't feel the need to use good grammar and spelling. Now, despite the fact that when on IM oder whatevs, it's really fine to use all of these little abbreviations like "jk" "lol" "atm" etc. etc. etc. Before I get any farther into this uncontrolled rant, let me just say that I do use some internet slang. Most of this, however, are words that I make up. So, whatevs, deelie, yuppers, wazhappenin, etc. etc. etc. I'm not one to use mainstream slang other than "lol" because there is NO replacement for LOL. No,...

Ok, now I know that there are other Artikel out there about keeping Fanpop clean in terms of language and being appropriate but it is obviously not enough seeing as people continue to ignore it.

Okay, for the past two months I have steadily grown addicted to this website. Maybe it's all the free time I have these days, oder maybe it's just I have an addictive personaily. It could of course be that this website is pure brilliance and I constantly think about it. Does that make me sad? No way! Because I can bet I'm not the only one. So here's a checklist of how to know when you've crossed the line between fanpop-addict, and totally-crazy. :)

1. Du form an opinion on something and think "I'm going to immediately make a pick about this"...and then the rest of your plan for the Tag goes out...

I can't believe it's been a whole year!

Today marks our 1-year anniversary of launching the Fanpop public beta! That's right folks, it was one Jahr Vor today that we pressed the button and unveiled Fanpop to the world wide web. And since then, we've had millions and millions of people come to the site. It's been great because we've gotten to know so many of Du through the community. Whether it be in a fun Forum game like A-Z in Heroes oder a heat Picks Debatte about vanilla vs. chocolate, we've really bonded with our users over the past year.

Re-reading the various Artikel about promoting Clubs on Fanpop, it occurred to me that some fairly basic ideas were missing for promoting the Clubs Du like (not just the ones Du create, but any Clubs Du enjoy).

Many of the Zurück etiquette Artikel and Forum threads have described things to avoid in promoting a club, as well as suggestions for things to do. For once, I'm not going to rant about undesirable behavior (that's the plan, anyway), but just keep the focus on other things Fans can try to promote their Favorit clubs. I hate those darned internet predators, don't you?

I just logged onto Fanpop about a half Stunde Vor and discovered something extremely profane and inappropriate on the YouTube spot. Due to it's heavily pornographic material, the video was deleted shortly thanks to several reports from some handy fellow Fanpoppers.

It was Abgeschickt Von a user of the name bon8699. I reported this user 3 times and I expect him to be banned for a long, long time.

The reason I am so annoyed that this was Abgeschickt is that this is not some pornography site. And this is most certaintly not NewGrounds, where Du can Abschicken Bilder like this as much as Du please without...

Basic Spelling 101

I swear to whatever higher power Du believe in that I am going to injure someone with all the shoddy spelling going around. Yes abbreviations are easier (in a sense) but it looks like a 5 Jahr old wrote it and a lot of people don't understand it. So lets first go over some abbreviations that we should cut out of our vocabulary here at Fanpop when Du post content...

u = you
r = are
srs = serious
2 = to oder too (using it as "two" is fine)
plz = please

If Du actually take that .5 of a Sekunde to type the whole word people will look at your content, Kommentar and such a lot Mehr and with nicer comments...

I am not here to lecture Du yet again on Foto crediting. I am done with that.

I am way past the lecturing and into downright grrrrrr-ville.

Du already know full well that taking something Du did not create and not giving full credit to the owner is theft. Your excuses mostly boil down to laziness at this point.

So.

This is my public notice that any and all Bilder with no credit to the original owner of the image will be rated harshly no matter how great the picture is... oder how much I normally like you.

Additionally, if there is a blatant Copyright notice right there on the damn picture and Du still failed to credit the owner, I'm reporting it to Fanpop -and- notifying the owner of the image that Du stahl, stola it.

Enough is enough.

Yes, I am fired up again over another issue of cruelty here on Fanpop... specifically the practice of passing judgment on other users.
Let's face it, we do not know each other personally, and for the most part none of us have ever met in real life.
