Here we go! A brand new animated Dragon Ball Z movie is making it’s way to Japanese theaters in the Spring of 2015! The news comes from the September issue of V-Jump magazine which reveals Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball Z, brings his genius back once again with an original concept, screenplay and character designs for the movie. “The entire universe eagerly awaits!!”

The new Dragon Ball Z movie will be an animated film like it’s predecessor. Toriyama-sensei confirmed in the magazine it will have a new story, one he intended to have this during his manga’s original serialization. Although he did not plan on it, he is putting a lot of effort in drawing the art and “fussing over the smallest dialogue lines.” He also promised more action scenes and teased the story is still secret, but will be “utterly funny.”

Much work is going into the Z Warriors’ 2015 big screen release according to Toriyama-sensei and he is confident fans will be able to enjoy the movie. Toriyama-sensei even mentions his first manga editor praised him on the work he has done, even though he rarely ever does that!

Not much else is revealed, but the prospect of a new Dragon Ball Z movie is quite exciting! Nothing has been mentioned for an North America English dub at this point either, but we hope to keep you up-to-date with the latest right here on Saiyan Island!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, the previous movie in the series, made it’s Japanese theatrical debut March 30, 2013. FUNimation, the North American licensor, has announced the movie will have over 350 theaters screening the English dubbed version of Battle of Gods throughout the United States and Canada in August of this year.

What was your favourite fight in the whole Dragon Ball/Z series ??. Mine was in Dragon Ball the final fight Goku vs Piccolo Jr. When Piccolo blew up 1 Island and 4-6 Mountains. It is also the fight im most rewatching. It was like 40 min only action.

I remember him saying in an interview last year that he planned on making the next movie have more of a focus on Vegeta. Maybe Vegeta will get SSJ God Mode so he can finally go toe to toe with me? I don’t know about that. I mean first off as uncomfortable as it makes me, his next idea for a film was vaguely about Vegeta and this one is apparently a story he intended for the original manga. Whether these are one in the same or not is up in the air but either way it seems he’s not as immediately ready to continue BoG as we are. Obviously it could be anything but it seems like this would be something he had planned before the idea of BoG. Either way we’re getting more canon material it seems and canon material really is the best material so either way it’ll be good.

OBJECTION! *hits the table* How can Mr. Toriyama remember that he wanted to use this story concept he is talking about – previously, in the series, if not so long time ago, he couldn’t remember the simplest things regarding DB Universe, such as SSJ3? The same goes to how the hell he remembered how he named androids, even though he never presented their names during either the Manga or Anime series?

Answer is simple – he made that all up for bigger hype of DB fans.

Well for one I doubt it. SSJ3 clearly takes something extreme. I mean Vegeta trains himself to death every day, probably just as much if not more than Goku did in the seven year time skip and even more through the time until BoG. Then pushing his power that high in BoG and he didn’t transform? This proves that SSJ3 is an impossibility to just train to, it takes something special like the less limiting plane of Other World or the sudden burst of power of fusion and knowing of the power and being prodigies. SSJ3 just isn’t possible for Vegeta which is why SSJ3 Trunks is the stupidest non canon concept out there.

Toriyama didn’t say SSJ1 was the best. I don’t know why people wanna go so much further than what Toriyama said. He said that Goku probably wont use SSJ2 or 3 anymore because he realized the importance of training up his base and SSJ1 power because he could get stronger and use up less energy by not using those forms. Power wise those forms will always be stronger because they are multipliers. SSJ2 is always constantly double the power of SSJ1 and SSJ3 is always four times the power of SSJ2. You can’t just be stronger than SSJ3 with SSJ1, that’s not how it works. What he means is that Goku can be stronger without using up so much energy on multipliers. Vegeta didn’t become stronger than SSJ3 in general, he became stronger than Goku is in his SSJ3 form for an instant by pushing up his power all at once. If Vegeta was at that power constantly and then reached SSJ3, he’d still be four times stronger than that. Goku (according to Toriyama) just merely realized that becoming stronger on his own is more beneficial than the instant gratification of power multipliers at the cost of wasting more energy. So no, SSJ1 can’t be superior to SSJ3, it just is and always has been more efficient in the way of energy conservation and it’s more that Goku can become so strong that he doesn’t need the higher forms.

If anything Goku would still probably use the other forms if he absolutely had to, he just wants to work up to the ability to not have to use them. From a writing standpoint I don’t think Toriyama would push for Goku to be in the type of situation where he needs them but if he did need them I could see him using SSJ2 like he did Kaioken – a form meant for a quick second of a burst of power before reverting back to basic SSJ1 since SSJ2 isn’t that bad for him to turn into and SSJ3 as a final ultimate attack powering move. Like he’d only use it when he needs a final ultimate move like Spirit Bomb so he’d flash into it just to fire a True Kamehameha or a Super Dragon Fist if that move ever became canon. Then God form would only be used as either a last resort before using SSJ2 (Since SSJ2 post SSJG would be stronger than SSJG) or he’d use it sparingly for it’s added benefits like sensing a God’s Ki or absorbing Ki. They would all be moves like Kaioken was while Goku’s main power was SSJ1 if he needed it and if not just Base Form. It would make sense anyway.

Point is that no matter how strong Goku got as an SSJ1, SSJ2 would always be twice that and SSJ3 would always be four times that. It’s just they use up energy so Goku wants to focus on not using them and just be strong enough to not have to use them.

OBJECTION! Maybe he reread everything, but that doesn’t mean that Mr. Toriyama, by some miracle, remembered everything what he was thinking about during it’s development.

That and he clearly thinks about his series often. He didn’t forget every simple concept, he’s only ever said that he forgot SSJ2 was a thing (not SSJ3) shortly before remembering it so it’s not like he just forgets everything and makes things up. The answers he gives to some of the questions are far too specific to have not been previously thought out. Just because he forgets some things on rare occasion doesn’t mean he doesn’t have ideas for things he didn’t need to write at the time.

Based on the interviews I read, he practically didn’t remember many things from DB Universe. Like the robots he drew in original DB, for example. He probably remembered something thanks to the game developers who asked him for some help, but that’s probably it. Hey! In the end, DB is 20+ years old, it’s not a surprise.

I don’t see why he couldn’t. It’s not rare that someone remembers something when looking at something related.

In most interviews it’s really minor stuff. The only thing he’s ever said he’d forgotten that was huge was SSJ2 and he thought SSJ3 was 2. This was only for a short time though before he remembered it.

Not true. Toriyama has never regarded any of the other ‘Frieza family’ members canon. He ignores their mention when asked about them and goes on to say that Frieza doesn’t really have a race. King Cold is a mutant of their race and he bore Frieza on his own who carries some of those mutant genes. As far as Toriyama is concerned, Frieza and King Cold ARE ‘Frieza’s race’. Any member of the original race is not particularly related to King Cold and or Frieza and may not even be powerful. So in reality no, they have not always been enemies to Saiyans because Cooler and Chilled do not exist.

My guess is that this movie will involve time travel and the return of the Future Saiyan with a sword.

Well, I didn’t like GT but the Characters (SSJ 4 Goku/Vegeta Omega/Nova Shnerong etc…) were awesome and had awesome fights, so I like them, but yeah, it’s dead to him, but the character design for Goku SSJ4 was awesome, and SSJ God… Except for the Aura and minor changes, it’s the same as KAIOKEN, so thats disappointing! And SSj4…. Well, he could make his own version, even though he worked on the SSJ4 Design…. So…

Well I think Xenoverse will introduce the new Kaiojikan/Time God. And if Future Trunks is in, it would definitely be a box office hit.

Cell’s my favorite DBZ villain, but I wouldn’t want that to happen. I’d rather see someone completely new or someone related to the Gods of Destruction.

After Battle of Gods, DBZ now has a lot of potential movie villains, since there are 11 other Gods of Destruction than Bills, and other fighters from the universe’s outside of DBZ’s regular universe.

There’s nothing “Atrocious” about it. I like GT, there’s nothing wrong with that. I like Z better, but i still think GT was the way it should have ended. It gave closure on how the hero’s lived and everything.

Today’s chapter was informative. We knew about the clone and how to identify Naruto from his clones(truth seeking balls) and Kishimoto is a supporter for the SasuSaku shippers. Good I love the NaruHina better then any other pairing.

I hope he put a better in effort God mode because God mode sucks Sheron Balls and Battle of God movie sucks ass only thing good in that movie was action and few funny parts when Gotenks get spank but I swear you give people a 2 good scene they swear this best movie of all time.

I hope this movie better than first one and after this let this man retire this man 59 by time this release he be 60 I understand if he was younger but come on now. Let this man R.I.P after this movie.

This weeks chapter was beautiful! Sasuke has never really had a reason to like Sakura– she’s just fan-girl’ed and tried to kill him. THIS time though… she gave her life force to an Uchiha, to help save another Uchiha.

and how Kishi ended the chapter with him holding her from behind in the same way he did when she tried to stop him from leaving! Mm!

Dragon Ball Z for the win! Best Anime! If it weren’t for DBZ all of the other Animes wouldn’t even exist or be good. DBZ is an inspiration to all of the other Animes out there.

I hope that mystery red haired saiyan is not a Ultimate Tenkaichi character creation ripoff. Dimps better not failed in this game or DB games in general are finished. But then again it will be replaced by Naruto games so that’s a plus.

it defiantly has more techniques and what not but just look at DBZ it has techniques but they’re freaking planet busting attacks! But I know it would almost never happen but you could agree that almost any DBZ character could solo everybody in Naruto right? Not to be a fan boy I just say things how they are.
