Doctor Who John Hurt as the Doctor

Do you think that John Hurt is a Doctor from the future or from the past?
If he is a Doctor from the past could he be the reason the Doctor ran away from Gallifrey before the series began?

I believe that John Hurt is the Doctor from before the first Doctor.
The first doctor ran away from Gallifrey, but we have never found out what it was, so it could him from before he left Gallifrey.

I think he is palpably the Doctor in between Paul MgGann and Christopher Eccleston. Perhaps that accounts for Eleven wanting to reveal his secret, as he was so ashamed. :) X
