I agree. We all know she can get out one way or another and also her pleas to get out just sound very fake to me.

It's more romantic than anything else (plus, I'll now pick out the scenes in which nobody cries - if someone cries, a scene is automatically sadder for me).

Cinderella being locked is one of the most emotional scenes. After we watch her whole story, singing that "A Dream is a wish your heart makes", seeing all that poor girl has been through, and after that we see an ugly bitch locking her so she can't go for her prince is so terrible. You people are saying that "We can figure out her friends will do something to help her", but that makes no sense! You could eliminate every scene by that line (Maybe not John Smith leaving, but however). I'm not picking Belle's because "I can figure out that someone will help". I picked because I find Maurice terribly annoying and because of Belle's singing - Coming to think, if she really wanted "Adventure in the great, wide, out there", she would have to leave her father anyway.

It's not as emotional as the others are.

There's no real climax. Cinderella locked is perfectly done, although her situation is less sever than others, the scene overall is more emotional.

This is starting to get on my nerves. Seriously, get out. Too boring.
