If they had cut down all of the scenes with the mice that weren't necessary, they could've developed the more important elements like Prince Charming as a character and the chemistry that is supposed to bloom between him and Cinderella. But then again, it's the same thing with Snow White: they focused on the comic relief, because the others characters, in particular the prince, were more difficult to animate.
