I actually like both and think Giselle would be a better fit but I think Jane is more unique of a character. My only qualm against her being in the lineup is that she doesn't sing.

I loved this movie when I first saw it as a child. I love how she is so similar to the original princesses and it brings the magic into our real world.

Not just because I love her, she just has a lot more interesting & dynamic personality and would bring something new to the lineup while still fitting in. Agreed about the singing but since Merida is there I don't mind as much.(I don't really count her songs as her singing).
Giselle is okay but she's literally just the classics (& Ariel) mixed in one. I know the point of the character is to be an homage, but still, there's zero uniqueness. also I think it'd be weird to have someone who's part live-action.

Maybe. Jane would be a bit confused with Belle.

^I could see that. Giselle fits better appearance-wise (then again, she was live -action most of the time.)
I think Jane would add variety personality-wise.
I like both, but these days, I prefer Jane.

Giselle is one of the reasons I really don't like Elsa. Giselle started that trend, making fun of the Classic princesses. And Elsa finished that trend, by reducing all Renaissance princesses who had goals to this line: "You can't marry a man you just met!"

AS IF every single one of the characters before Elsa had done that. Yo, NO.

So no Giselle, and no Elsa.

If they could add Merida ( who sang zilch), they should have kept Jane.

Giselle's part live-action, so no.

She's a delight!

She’d fit in better.

I would be happy with either of them.
