Mulan is a tough, strong woman both physically and emotionally, and fearless. I love how she has the most development, from a clumsy, doubtful person to the brave and heroic one. She was loyal and cares with her family.

By far my favorite princess of all time. It has strengths as to show that women are equally capable of doing grandiose things (which was not well-regarded at the time, both in the film and in real life, in which women are reduced to "being submissive / weak" or "just a face beautiful"). And as has already been said here, she is emotionally strong as well as physically without falling into that stereotype "woman with no feelings," she had a great development from an insecure girl to a self-confident woman.

One of my favorite heroines of all time. Smart, selfless, strong in adversity a non-conformist that strives to do the absolute most to prove some kind of worth to herself. She's a tough cookie and not just preaches feminism, but practices it. She's great all around.

Love Mulan so much. She's so courageous and strong and intelligent. She shows everyone that women are worth just as much as men. She freaking saves her entire country! I love how she continues to push forward despite the terrible odds that are thrown at her. She grows so much from her experiences, and comes out a much more mature and responsible person. She's incredibly tough to beat in terms of her personality, so much so that lately I've been thinking she deserves to be a spot or two higher on my list than she is currently.

She completely knocked my socks off when she showed up in 1998. I've loved Mulan ever since. I'm glad she brings a different "tone" to the lineup, and takes the emphasis off of constantly pursuing dreams. I also love her humility and her knowledge of herself. Mulan didn't want glory, power, and prestige. What she really wanted was to prove herself enough to escape her own self-hatred. And she accomplished that in the most heartwarming way..

Mulan's message is a different message from most of the lineup. So she's my favorite princess.

What i like most about Mulan is she is not one to give up quickly. She's family oriented, selfless and respectful towards her parents. She tried her hardest, her best, on everything even when she doesn't like it. She's responsible and brave, humble, a quick thinker and funny. She's also relatable. Not everyone was born knowing what they want to do with their lives. Mulan represented an awkward, ordinary girl who during spectacles matures and become a better person.
I don't like Mulan because she saved China and everyone else, I liked her because she choose to do that despite all the risks, out of her selflessness and kindness and the genuine feeling of want to make her parents proud of her. It's not her duty or even her dream, but she did it anyway. She put others well being above herself and not self-centered at all. She's quite the role model.

She is very sympathetic and relatable character. Her most relatable traits are her self-hatred and her love of her elders. Her care about her elders' life and health is also extremely relatable. I really felt sorry for her when she was dishonored by army. I would want to protect her. I hope the momemt when she is dishonored will inspire me to protect people like Mulan from people like Chi-Fu IRL. I am not very brave, daring or determined person but I hope that memories of that moment from Mulan will make me braver when I'll witness the similiar situation IRL.

When I first joined Fanpop many years ago, I didn't really like Mulan. I was confused as to why she was a part of the Disney Princess Lineup, while not being a princess or marrying a prince. I even made a poll about it. Boy, has time changed! Now I adore Mulan, I think she's a great role model! Quick-thinking, not without humor and she cares deeply for the people closest to her heart!

a mix of what everyone has already said. Plus she is truly one of the most humble and modest DP i have seen. she self-evaluated her flaws and worked hard to get over them. I love her development the most.

What I like about Mulan is that she doesn't want "mooooore" but just her place in the world. Also, that she doesn't start the movie wanting to be a soldier, but just ends up being one to do what she feels she has to do.
