Because we don't know much about her personality, people make a lot of assumptions about her. I've seen her described as being a pushover, as well as highly philosophical, which are both safe assumptions to make based on what we'd seen, but there are no signs of her being either of those things.

^About the philosophical part... Pay attention to the words in I Wonder. :)

^Agreed.

Aurora by far, though I think Snow is the most hated. And almost as badly misunderstood. People seem stumped by heroines who don't need to have weapons, sass, adventures, and hobbies in place of a personality!

...hobbies in place of a personality!
Well, people need hobbies to help with a personality. But there's tons of hobbies for people to have; reading, running, role playing, watching movies, walking through a forest, etc.

Again, I understand why Aurora gets hate.

I just don't like Snow White because she's completely irrelevant to me. SWatSD is an incredibly dated movie (like Frozen will be in a few years) and I just can't:
-relate to
-appreciate
-watch without rolling my eyes
anything she does. I can't find it within me to like Snow White or her movie, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. I love Aurora and Cinderella, but Snow White is a little too much for me. It's not because of her lack of hobbies or adventure or what have you; I just find her and her personality annoying and kind of shallow.

Also, her movie terrified me when I was little, and since then, I've never had a good impression of it (for varying reasons).

Angelica- Yes, but I just meant people today seem to like characters who have those things in PLACE of a unique personality (one reason I don't really care for Rapunzel for example, because the film makers seemed to be trying to give her a ton of hobbies to make people relate to her instead of developing a more distinct personality). they don't seem to like the characters who what you see of is what you get, they say "Ugh, they never DO anything or have interests outside of wanting a man and singing!"

Aurora simply doesn't have enough screen time, poor girl. The focus just shifts primarily to Philip, Maleficent, and the fairies. Sigh. It's harder to relate to Aurora, since there is so little to see. And then it aggravates me that Elsa gets about the same amount of screen time as Aurora ( and I call Jennifer Lee a BAD screenwriter for not fleshing out Elsa's character, more. You need a character who feels something else besides perpetual fear-- which becomes a one-dimensional aspect). What was I saying...? Yeah, in my opinion, Aurora and Elsa both got shafted in their movies because of bad scripts. I need to stay away from Jennifer Lee movies... it appears. She writes lopsided characters. The only movie from her that felt "well-rounded" was Wreck-IT Ralph, and she was only co-author for that one.

I still hate the term, "misunderstood" because it feels I'm putting all the people who don't like said princess into one little group and saying the only reason you don't like her is because you misunderstand her. That being said, if I had to pick the princess that is in my opinion given usually the most ridiculous reasons for dislike it would be poor old Snow. Outside of fanpop all I hear is that she's weak (Yeah, singing a song after hearing your mother is gonna kill you makes you weak) That she's a damsel in distress (She can handle her self quite fine) and that her voice is annoying (I don't even know what to say to that, her voice shouldn't affect your appeal to her character.) Cinderella is by far the most liked classic and while Aurora gets a good amount of hate, I understand some reasoning. Not most, but some.
