I hate mary sues

She's a stupid and spoiled brat... And anyway, most people only like her because she's a mermaid.

I don't hate her at all. Its just that I love all the others more. I still really really like her.

But I still love her though, she's just not as interesting as the others are

Or Pocahontas.

BelleAnastasia, I don't think it's fair to speak for all people who like a character claiming that you know why they like that character (imo). I could write a book on why I love Ariel and her being a mermaid doesn't contribute to it whatsoever (in fact, I like her human version more than her mermaid version).

Snow White, Belle and Tiana are my least favourite, but I don't hate them per se, I just find them rather personalitiless and incredibly and utterly boring.

I find her to be pretty boring and uninteresting.

And I will admit to being one of those people who loved Ariel largely due to the fact that she was a mermaid (when I was little). My reasons for liking her are different now, but it certainly played a huge part in my initial interest in her!

BelleAnastasia I did not try to argue, I merely stated my point about it being impossible for you, for me or for anyone else to actualy know why most people like a certain character, because we never got to actually speak to thousands of DP fans worldwide to figure out where their attachement to certain princesses comes from. Even based on fanpop Ariel fans usually love her for being adventurous, rebellious and other character traits and not because she has a tail.

Usually when I've seen comments/posts by people on why they like Ariel, a lot of them say they like her because she's a mermaid...
