One of the subjects that interest me the most about Filme (including DP movies) is the box-office. I think that if used in the right way (I mean, inflation-adjusting things), it might be a good way to compare Filme and understed why they are beliebt oder not. So I spent some time researching and I finally came up with the North American grosses of the 10 DP Movies. Hope Du enjoy my research, my Kommentare and my images.

#10 - The Princess and the Frog - $107.7 million
If the word "flop" applies to any of the DP Movies, unfortunately, it's this one. The Princess and the Frog's marketing was very centered in the "return of traditional animation/fairy tale thing" and didn't consider that people might have Lost interest in this kind of movie. Though it didn't help that people created too much expectations, PatF really could have done better. Also we have to remember that it was released weeks before James Cameron's Avatar (currently the highest-grossing movie of all time) and Alvin and the Chimpmunks 2.

#9 - Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt - $199.9 million
If this Liste wasn't inflation-adjusted, Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt would rank #2. But we are not considering the additional price of the 3D ticket and the inflation factor has been included. Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt was definetevely very sucessful, though not as much as its isolated numbers may seem to. It grossed twice as much as PatF and delivered Disney's biggest opening weekend ever, giving a new chance to the fairy tale genre. Part of the sucess may be explained Von its marketing, that managed to expand the movie's audience.

#8 - Mulan - $204.2 million
Mulan was very sucessful upon its release, but not as much as the other DP renaissance movies. Maybe little girls avoided it because of the "China-War-Dragon" theme. Also, in 1998, the peak of Disney's renaissance was gone and after The Lion King, Filme started to gross less than Disney's "Fab Four" (which also includes The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin). However Mulan outgrossed non-DP Filme The Hunchback of Notre Dame(1996, $179.9 million) and Hercules (1997, $171.4 million).

#7 - The Little Mermaid - $210.3 million
Things were very hard for animated Filme back in 1989, when The Little Mermaid was released. It's even unfair to compare its gross with most of the other movies, because TLM had to "start from zero", while the other Filme found a Disney-confident audience. While it was possible to market Beauty and the Beast as "The movie from the studios that brought Du The Little Mermaid", Ariel didn't have such thing. However, even considering this, the movie isn't in the bottom 3 of the Liste and that is already very impressive. In 1989, it was the highest grossing animated movie to datum (not inflation-adjusted).

#6 - Pocahontas - $258.4 million
People often refer to Pocahontas as a flop, but that's not true. The problem is that some anxious filmmakers were expecting the movie to go ahead of The Lion King's $592 million tally, and when the movie "only" grossed $258 million, they were clearly frustated. However, I'd say that the movie was mostly benefited Von TLK's hype. If it had been released in other year, it certainly would be lower.

#5 - Beauty and the Beast - $312.5 million
Benefited Von The Little Mermaid's hype, Beauty and the Beast managed to go ahead of that movie. The best picture nomination in the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best movie (Musical/Comedy) also helped the movie to gain interest, and to date, it beated TLM to be the highest grossing animated movie (not inflation-adjusted). With its 3D version release this week, the movie might even beat the #4 movie.

#4 - Aschenputtel - $370.0 million
Disney's most beliebt princess didn't make it to the podium of the highest-grossing movies. Of course it was very sucessful and saved the Disney Studios, but it's not the kind of movie people remember from the theaters. However, back in 1950, it outgrossed Snow White and remained as the top-grossing animated movie until Lady and the Tramp (1955, not inflation-adjusted).

#3 - Aladin - $416.4 million
I'm sure most of Du are surprised with this. Aladin was an enormous hit in 1992 and it outgrossed The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast Von a very wide margin (maybe because it is Mehr attractive for boys). However, nowadays, Aladin isn't as beliebt as TLM oder BatB. Also, if the Liste wasn't inflation-adjusted, Aladin would rank #1.

#2 - Sleeping Beauty - $577.0 million
Another big surprise! Bad mouths may say that this movie was a flop, but there are no words against the numbers. Though it grossed less than Aschenputtel and Snow White upon its original release, Sleeping Beauty managed to improve its gross with its re-releases over the years. Currently, it ranks #30 in the Liste of the all-time movie grossers.

#1 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfes - $865.5 million
This definetevely wasn't a surprise. Disney's most beliebt movie and a masterpiece from the cinema, Snow White became the biggest hit of all time upon its original release (though it was outgrossed Von "Gone With the Wind" later). Currently, Snow White is among the oben, nach oben 10 all-time grossers with an impressive $865.5 million tally.

So here is the Part 2 to my musical countdown: Scores. I Liebe Disney Musik and I honestly Liebe the scores over the songs. They have all of the "magic Disney" feel that I absolutely adore. Also, I Liebe how the scores can provide a blend of the different songs from it's respective films as well as stir up all of the emotions and/or memories from it's respective scene(s). For those reasons, this Liste was much harder for me to make than Part 1: Songs, but I managed to finish! As I mentioned before, I cannot get enough from the musical team of Alan Menken and Howard...

The saddest moments from DP Filme that made me cry and most often they still do. Some are close to herz while some are so well enacted and animated that i'm moved Von the simplicity of emotions.

13. 3 good Elfen put the entire kingdom to sleep:
Despite their best of efforts, they lose Aurora to the spell and the only way to make things work is to put the entire kingdom to sleep, waking only when she awakens. It makes me sad to see them blame themselves for this loss. It doesn't make me cry though, but yes, it puts me in a sad mood.

12. Aschenputtel crying in the forest:
More than her dress...

I got inspired Von anukriti2409's Artikel so I decided to write my own list, it was hard to do, but I narrowed it down to these 10 things, hope you'll enjoy this article

10. The Lantern Scene

This scene is imo the most beautiful 3d animated scene, especially the part where the King and Queen releases their lantern and then the rest of the kingdom follows, that part gives me Gänsehaut everytime. It also inspired me to release a lantern on New Year's Eve 2013

9. The Bayou Wedding Scene

This scene is the most beautiful thing from a DP Movie released after 2000, what especially makes this...

Okay so I have read multiple places on here that "Ariel just left her family for some guy she barely knew" and variations thereof. I coincidentally enough just watched this film within the last Monat and remember it very freshly so I would like to contribute my opinion on this matter. First though, I would like to remind people: These Disney Princess films do not take place in a modern time and setting. Most of them take place over a 100 years Vor and are during a time when most people were dead Von 40 and half weren't even making it that long. To put it in perspective, the equivalent of a woman...

The Disney Princesses wear some of the cutest little outfits, both inside and outside of ceremonies and balls, so I wanted to do a fun and light-hearted ranking of all of their outfits! I already did a sort of "part 1" to this countdown with the non-ceremonial outfits/ball gowns ranked. Here I will be ranking the non-casual categories of outfits. I ranked them based on which I'd like to wear/own most:

Ceremonial (Non-Casual/Non-Ball Gown) Outfits:

10. Tiana's Green Dress:
(Top Right Picture) Probably my least Favorit of Tiana's dresses. I don't like whatever's going on with the oben, nach oben half (the...

As some of Du may know, I recently did my version of a "Prettiest Princess" Artikel which rated the insgesamt attraction of each princess. That Artikel was done with a heavy bias towards what males like best about females so I wanted to make one with the bias towards what females like (in friends). What females look for in Friends will of course vary Von personality so I decided to use the Disney Princesses as the model for my female scale. I made a ranking Liste for each of them (of course, it is subject to my opinion of their rankings) and then combined all 13 lists to see how they'd rate each...

So yesterday I wrote about my Favorit songs, today I'll write about the 10 best scenes, originally I was planning on only doing a oben, nach oben 5, but I felt that it was too little so I decided to do a oben, nach oben 10 list, like with the songs I Liebe all the scenes in the movie so placing them wasn't so easy, but I hope you'll like this Artikel anyway

10. The Funeral Scene

This scene is so sad yet so beautifully animated and I couldn't resist putting this one on here since I Lost my grandmother just a few days ago, but even before that this has been one of the most beautiful scenes in the movie aswell as...

Hey everyone! So a really talented writer on this site had posed a Frage about which princesses fit best as Friends into friend groups. This made me very happy because I honestly think about this all the time (Disney Princess crossovers) so I was excited about the opportunity to read other fans' opinions. After Lesen many people's opinions and putting careful thought into this, I believe I have come up with groups that best fit the personalities involved. I would Liebe to hear what Du guys think, see if Du agree oder disagree and why so please feel free to leave detailed comments. Thanks!...

Saw an old Frage gepostet from a Jahr Vor that inspired me to write this. The Frage was about which Disney Princesses might make best friends, in pairs, based on commonalities. As I started to think about it, I found all of the commonalities to be quite interesting. So I decided to post my findings of commonalities (not go for the BFF route) just because I found it interesting what the princesses had so much in common. Hope Du guys do too:

Snow & Aurora:
Both were royal but fled to the forest to escape their villains. Both were put under a sleeping spell. Both like to dance and initiate...

Moana follows the adventure of spirited teenager Moana Waialiki (set to be Disney's first Polynesian princess) who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one today knows why.

During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed...

Hello there! I'm ApplesauceDoctr here today with my third DP Song Analysis article. I've forgotten how much I enjoy Schreiben these, and since I re-watched Merida - Legende der Highlands a few days ago, I thought I'd analyze one of its most notable songs -- "Into the Open Air".

Before we begin, thought I'd mention this -- the chorus occurs twice in the real song (the one Du can purchase from the soundtrack), but only occurs once in the actual movie. The lyrics for the two are quite different, but because we only hear one version in the movie, I'll only discuss that one we hear. :D

This love, it is a distant star...
