Where does Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt take place? (I mean like country,and timeline etc)

I agree that the architecture is very german Gothic in style but it could also be french gothic. It's obviously a mishmosh of European countries. The royal schloss is mostly based on Mont St. Michael in France. Every day, all the water comes in turning it into an island.

It's a Germany fairytale, and the architecture is based off that of Snow White, so it's Germany+Random references to other cultures. I don't really think they were going for a specific country with this one, because it seems to have elements of many European countries. But again, based of the setting of the original tale and architecture, it's Germany.

It takes place in the 1780s, in the fictional kingdom of Corona, which is in no real country at all. However, the Disney team got most of the inspiration for Corona from eastern Europe; particularly eastern Germany, Poland and Hungary. Read this page from the Disney Wiki for Mehr info: link

There are Germanic and French influences, as it's an Alpine forest setting- however- the bridge shown is likely the Bridge over the Drina in Bosnia...the architecture is unmistakable. Du can see Mehr pictures of this famous bridge, as well as other architectural gems of the area, here:

The fairytale of Rapunzel is indeed a German one, but the film adaptation Disney did is not the fairytale. It's based off of the fairytale, but has its own twists.
I don't believe Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt happened anywhere in Europe.
None of the characters really have any accents (save for Mother, but she's very, very old).
Also, in Mother's song to Rapunzel telling her not to go outside, she mentions something that doesn't appear in Europe: poison ivy.
Poison ivy is a North American plant. If Mother tells Rapunzel that there's poison ivy she needs to be wary of if she leaves the tower, then she must be somewhere in North America, right? Right.
The way I interpreted it was either in the States (which makes sense, based on the theme of "Fear of the unknown" in the film) oder in Canada.
That's just for geographical location. It's probably just a mish-mash of all sorts of countries and cultures... So maybe it should be in Canada, because we (I'm Canadian) are just a mixing pot of cultures.

My guess is Norse, judging from the Design of the ships, houses and how the people dress. Also the guy who designs the tiny Einhörner has the head gear of a Viking.

I just checked Disney Wiki & it is based on a German fairy tale so probably set in Germany oder somewhere close.

Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt is set in Bavaria (a state in Germany). I don't know the exact timeline. I believe it's in the 1660s, but I'm not entirely sure. It's somewhere in the 1500s oder 1600s.

Rapunzel's dress looks kinda German, and I think that the movie takes place in Germany.

Rapunzel and Eugene are both German names. Gothel means godmother in German. The story was written Von the Grimm brothers, who were German. But that story was adapted from a story called Persinette, which is French. I agree that some of the stuff in the movie seems Italian oder Irish, but I'm going to say the setting is in Germany. :)

I don't know why I haven't seen Sweden gepostet anywhere as an answer. There are quite a few things in the movie that make me think that and now that people are linking Frozen and Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt it makes even Mehr sense. For one thing there are vikings in Tangled, if you've ever seen a Swedish schloss the architecture is extremely similar, the soldiers in Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt wear similar helmets, the folk Musik in Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt sounds like Swedish folk music, the village architecture in Rapunzel – Neu verföhnt is similar to the Swedish island of Gotland, which is in the Baltic Sea, which connects to the North Sea, which connects to Norway where Frozen is supposed to take place and if Du believe the Little Mermaid connection, which is a Danish story, Denmark is connected the North Sea as well.
