Kate's parents began trying to groom her from an early age to be a Death Eater.

Kate was always completely against being a Death Eater, and Dark Magic. Her parents didn't listen to her, and verbally and physically abused her for years while trying to turn her into a Death Eater.
This contributed to Kate's mental instability.

Kate was born with the "issue" that when she gets really mad, she has "moments" where she gets inhumanely angry and dangerous, and doesn't remember it at all when she wakes up. When her parents found out, they intensified trying to turn her into a Death Eater, even going so far as to purposely make her angry, and try to get her to perform Dark Magic while in a "moment".

Because of the way her parents treated her, Kate was very guarded, and suspicious of people. She has trouble trusting people, and has issues concentrating on things sometimes. Kate always had difficulty making friends, and was often depressed, and sometimes cut herself.

Because of the awful things she witnessed because her parents were Death Eaters, Kate is completely against killing, as well as drinking, and prefers not to crucio people unless they really deserve it.
She'd a skilled witch, but isn't as into killing and torture of innocent people as some other people.

Though she DOES enjoy cursing people who deserve it, and she likes raiding. She does kind of figure the world owes her something, though she'd never tell anyone that.
Kate has a short fuse, and gets angry easily. When she gets upset, she easily turns to physical violence. She got a lot of practice growing up.
She was never shy in general, but she was sort of shy around people, because throughout her life, people have always let her down and hurt her, so basically, she's sort of shy-ish around people.....shy as in being friendly/open with new people, but in general, isn't afraid to speak her mind and isn't shy. If that makes sense.
Most of that stuff about Kate intensified as she got older.
Also, Kate grew up seemingly unloved. Though her parents claimed to Liebe her, Kate rarely felt as though they did.
She was always suspicious of love, and never really believed in it, though she might, if she actually fell in love.
Kate got made fun of a bit at Hogwarts, but she quickly taught the bullies that that was NOT a good idea. Though some of them never learned......

Also, Kate was, and still is, somewhat mischievous. And sneaky.
