Loved it. I honestly did laugh. I mean I loved his response. Alot of Twilight fans say it is insulting and everything and he is being rude. But that is who Damon is. He takes the mick out of everyone and everything. He even does it to his brother. Get over it I mean Edward shouldn't 'sparkle' then. It is kinda daft. I mean Meyer just made Vampires seem cissy. She made them out to be normal people who you could just cuddle and you can always find a perect vampire. That is not true. Even though they are all powerful and what not they are not perfect. Also I think Twilight fans need to get over the fact that Damon is a better Vampire and need to accept that Edward is not a realistic character. x.

^Haha totally agree. The lure of the vampire is that he/she appears perfect but underneath the skin they're not. It jus the way its been. With Edward there is nothing under the skin jus loads of glitter which Damon doesn't get and he finds the appeal strange. That is why he respects Anne Rice - she doesn't make the vampires into gods but rather more power-crazed humans :D he relates to it.

Anway, what I don't understand is the Twi-fans reaction to this. All sci-fi/supernatural do it. hell, every show does it. When Buffy turned the Dracula story on its head there wasn't so much of a scandal as there is now - its ridiculous. Every show is entitled to interpret another universe into its own world if it wants. Its usually to drive some point home. Here its the fact that vamps aren't cuddly but vicious, monsters, in the instance of Damon. It should be noted that he didn't liken Edward to Stefan the way many ppl do. It seems that Damon either 1. believes Stefan isn't 'whipped' aka inlove 2.has flaws of his own/or a side that he doesn't want to show. So actual fact, it wasn't jus trying to diss twilight it was trying to set the record straight (which Damon did more explicitly as well) - TwiVamps are not the same as Damon-type vampires or 'real' ones. Tho, I laughed very hard when he said it all I was like 'Wohooo! Damon I wonna hug u' (then I came to my senses as to who I was talking about)

samjhart there was a scandal because Twilight fans are way too obsessed with it and don't like to hear anything the least bit insulting about it. Damon's reference to Twilight was insulting to Twi-hards because he said that that these vampires are not real. And of course whoever likes something soooooo much is insulted. Stupid I know but true. One reason I don't like Twilight.

^ Lol Twi-hards are so predictable *rolls eyes* When a work is made public - its open to criticism - but SMeyer made really easy and the fans don't really help either. I've met nice ones, 'sane' and there are others that would literally harm u if u utter anything against the Twilight world. Its just a bit of fun and FICTIONAL, ppl seriously need to lighten up.

And if there wasn't a Twilight mania it wouldn't be singled out. The fact is that Twi-hards insist the only credible vampires ones are the Twilight ones. If they are going to continuosly claim plagarism blah, blah then TVD has a right to defend itself. After all, its a new show - it has to show originality etc. They could address it in interviews, media or like this. Personally think this way was MORE fun :D lol

Ha! Twihards are saying that VD copied Twilight. I don't see how that could happen since you know VD was written YEARS BEFORE Twilight. So Twilight copied VD. And that is a perfect reason for Damon to bash Twilight cause Meyer needs to realise that she can't steal ideas from other books to write hers. Stephenie got Twilight out of this amazing book. So yeah.....

samjhart you're so right. I've met Twilight fans too and most of them were insane. One of them almost punched me :O In my opinion Twilight makes teenagers violent. I've never heard of any other book doing that to girls. Seriously it makes them so obsessed that in the end it drives them mad...

Lol, I laughed my ass off for God knows how long. But honestly, even considering Damon & Edward Cullen in the same category is absurd. Damon is an actual vampire who wouldn't bat an eyelash before ripping your organs out and Edward...Bella had him whipped in a matter of seconds. Damon Salvatore doesn’t get whipped. No offence to the authors each portrayed each Vampire different, which is makes the storyline intense.
