Stelena Fans say Stefan deserves Elena so he should end up with her. Delena fans, how do Du respond to that argument?

I've heard this argument lots of times before. Not only does it reek of complacency, it doesn't mean ANYTHING. It used to be really easy for Stelena Fans to assume that Stefan deserved Elena because he was the 'good' brother, and Damon was the 'bad' one, but now that whole theory has been thrown out the window because of the dark secrets of Stefan's ripper past he always hid from her. Both brothers have killed and done things they're ashamed of, so the argument that Elena should end up with whichever brother is Mehr 'deserving' doesn't mean anything. Neither brother is wholly good oder bad. But even if Stefan hadn't been a ripper, I don't think Liebe is about which guy deserves it the most. I remember seeing this one Fan art of Damon someone gepostet here which sagte 'Love: Some say that those who deserve it the least are the ones who need it the most' (or something like that). SE Fans have always been fond of saying 'But look at all the terrible things Damon has done. Elena would never stand for that. She deserves better. She deserves...Stefan.' I always thought that Liebe isn't about being self-righteous and getting what we deserve, because if we all got what we deserved all the time, we would probably be in a bad way. Damon isn't good and perfect and he doesn't Liebe her because he 'deserves' her; he loves her because he's broken and he needs her. He's like the prince in 'Beauty and the Beast' before he's turned into a beast. He knows what he could become, and he doesn't want the curse to come true, but he doesn't have the power to break it Von himself. Take Elena away from Damon forever and he WILL become a beast. She's the only one who can break the curse. So, I think that Stelena Fans idea that Liebe is about who deserves it the most is wrong. If Liebe was a right that was only reserved for 'good' people, then nobody would ever want to change. Damon has changed so much since he met Elena. He went from being a guy who didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted to being someone who wants to save the town. He's saved and protected Elena so many times, even if it meant being at odds with her. He was even prepared to stake her if she woke up a vampire because he couldn't stand the idea of her hating him forever. He's put her first again and again, in the most unexpected and selfless ways, and isn't that what Liebe is about? Sure, he hasn't always done the right thing. Sure, he's made big mistakes in the name of love. But every time he's made them, Du can see how much Damon needs love. And Du don't see that with Stefan.

I would just say that Damon deserves Elena too. (:

I think we all know that who DEserves Elena more!!

Well I look at it this way, it has nothing to do with the "better brother" Stefan may be 'nicer' but Damon wne threw A LOT because of his 'love' for Katherin and he is always finding out he is 'second best' to the women he loves... really? So Damon struggled with his emotional side a lot long which is what made him seem 'heartless' but he was just morning for Lost love. And I Think Damon deserves Elena because he went threw so much for a women he thought loves him back. But it was a lie. He is a lot sweeter then everyone thinks if they are just looking at his 'heartlessness' He really cares for Elena, and although both would die for her, I think there is Mehr to Damon we, as viewers, have not yet seen, and Stefan is kind of an open door.

Stefan is not the one constantly saving Elena over and over. Stefan isnt there when Elena is hurt oder in pain. Damon is the one who saves her. He protects her, even if she doesnt agree to the fullest. Damon is so underestimated, that i think HE deserves Elena, after all he's been through. He deserves one good thing in his life, instead of Stefan always getting everything.

I think it's pretty selfish to say that 'Stefan deserves Elena'. If Stelena Fans ship Stefan and Elena then they should view them as equals. What would Elena want? What does SHE deserve? Delena Fans typically think of both parties in their ship, and actually LIKE both parties where as SE Fans only think about Stefan and his wants. Damon and Elena belong together (THEY: as in both of them belong with each other.)

I think this argument is just really selfish, and has nothing to build from as DE Fans can say the exact same thing.
