I could never have an indoor/outdoor cat! I'm too protective lol It's a good thing too because the cat I have now is in other words a scaredy cat and he hates going out!

My cats are mainly indoors. Occasionally one of them will venture out on the deck.

They come and go as they please in nice weather... but in this cold rainy ickiness they pretty much stay inside.

My cat was both indoor and outdoor. Reason being was she refused to use a litter box, she'd rather use the nicely manicured flower beds.

I think although my cats have a siamese dad so they stay indoors at night( out of their own free choice), if you have a garden and dont live by a motor way you should let them roam and meet other cats, i think although indoor cats prob live longer, it makes there lives a lot happier: cats are meant to roam.

I have one indoor cat. A few years ago I had 10 cats. We had them for a very long time. They were all the same age. Anyway, we had indoor cats. Except there were two that always lived outside. They weren't ours. One was the neighbors cats, that the kept outside. And one was a stray. We took care of both of them. One of the out door cats, the stray, died after 18 years of living. The neighbors cat just left, someone probably saw him and picked him up. At the moment, our only cat, is an indoor cat.

My cats are afraid of the outdoors. There are also too many feral cats around that would kick their butts in a fight. Strangely enough, our cats were all born feral.

Well I used to have a cat that had to be indoors. But we had to get rid of our cat because me and my mom are allergic to cats so we had no choice. But I still love them.

I have one of each. Kitty is deathly afraid of the outdoors but Lily live to be outdoors.

We have a yard enclosed in a fence.
But when my cats(Tang,Selena,& Milo) mostly Tang and Selena,they will run around the house when they want to go outside.
Selena will get up on our entertainment center(pictures and glass objects) and she will knock over everything.
She has broken 2 objects now.
Milo just meows at the door.

only because I live in an apartment, she sometimes goes out on the balconey but when she is out there I'm so paranoid

all of my cats are indoors except for one because she wouldnt fight back when the other were picking on her and she is kind of a loner.It made me feel bad when she was getting picked on but she seems much happier outside sometimes she bring dead birds or mice 2 my front door I guess she wanted 2 show me how good of a hunter she is.

My cat Smokey peed in the house (beside the open conservatory door) and my dad whos not a cat person banned him from the house. Poor Smokococo!

my cats, flower, faye, and slash are all very different. Flower always wants to go out but can't because she still has her front claws so she can climb up trees, she did once. Faye hates the outdoors and Slash likes it and is allowed out because he's declawed. So either way is fine

My cat spends most of the day inside. He does go outside, but never far away (if I call him from the door, he always comes running). He has fought a couple of times now with the neighbour-cat, but that's (cat)life. When I first got him I wanted to keep him an indoor cat, but he became kinda depressed, so now I let him outside (but he's always inside at night).
My cat is also so well brought up (not by me, I got him from the pound), he actually comes inside to use the litter box
Btw axlluver43, I don't really understand why your declawed cat can go outside and the one who still has her claws can't. I never heard anything like that.

they sleep in they room inside my house and go to outside to play a little while. till I call him of door with typical exclamation and have recognized my cat. well, my cat is release, don't know they play at inside or outside they have never naughty or play at dirty place. they enjoy nature so long as have eaten or bath. and will go home by itself which when me see have sleeped his sleep place. but agree with sapp, when i first time get my cat i want to keep my cat inside but pity also!

Both of my cats go out and come in whenever they want, although one of them does like to stay outdoors more than the other.

My cat can only go out the back garden. She doesn't want to go out into the street anyway, mainly because she has a fear of cars (as many cats do), and the other cats that live on our street hate her anyway.

There was this one time where the nastiest cat on the street came into our house, and my cat slapped him in the face!

all three of my cats are indoor cats. At one point all three were sort of outdoor kitties. My oldest cat chester we bought at a fair. My secind oldest cat rocky was abandoned by his previous owners and we rescued him. Then our newest kitty Minka was from a stray mother and an abandoned father.

Well I have 6 cats and one of them is old and fat so i'd be hard for him to do normal-outside cat things. + where we live its full of snakes,bugs that bite/sting and sewer wholes all around

She loves it outside but I watch her like a hawk, she only. Goes outside for about 5 minutes a day and all she does is eat grass

Snuggles only likes indoors, but Jack likes to be outdoors in the day, but he sleeps in my bed all night.

We used to let our cats out, but there are coyotes and bobcats that live near our house. When our late cat, Apollo, was killed by a bobcat, his brother became an indoors-only cat.

My cats stay indoors because we got coyotes and black bears and we had a white cat 7 years ago and he got snatched by a coyote.

Why would you keep a cat just inside/outside?! They need both! But I understand with bears and dogs.

I think if you keep your cat inside all the time it is animal cruelty because your cat would feel like it's trapped.And I think you cats can go out whenever they want to same with if they want to be inside.
If anyone is affended it's just what I think.
