I think the softer look suits her personality better. The other look was pretty too, but the "earth mother" was more her.

yep both looks suite her but the 'earth mother' thing does look a lot better!

although i really hated it when they had her in bright makeup, it just wasn't her at all

I wasn't too keen on her zig zag hair style in Season Four.

Hm. I remember posts from The kitten, The Witches and the Bad Wardrobe where we agreed they never really let her develope her own style. Her character was awkward and unsure at first. But it would have suited me if she looked more like Amber in her street clothes.

I actually think the way tara's dress sense developed made sense for her character. She seemed like someone who really wasnt into fashion who went from not trying much to, after hanging round with people who were all pretty well dressed all the time, started looking like she had found a basic style she liked but she was never too 'put together' which to me seemed more realistic as not many people in real life look as styled as tv characters.

The fact that she didnt really have a signature look or anything made her a more realistic character.

Tara did develop her own style. She was a relaxed understated 'earth mother'. It doesn't have to be high fashion to be a 'look'

not only her personality suits it more but her features are soft and more rounded and so she looks much prettier in this natural style
