Brooke's POV
After the game I waited outside the gym for Lucas , but he didn't come out.As Nathan passed me with Haley he just gave me a sad look, as if I was supposed to know what that meant, so I went after them: "Hey guys.Do Du know where Lucas is?" I look ad them as they gave each other a sceptical look. Nathan was the first to speak: "Ehm .. He didn't feel like playing tonight so I guess he went home."
"Okay, thanks." I knew that something was going on , but I was too scared to ask, so I went into my car & took of to Lucas.
As usual I just walked into his room, but there was no light on & as I looked around no one was there.There could only be one Mehr place where he could be...
And as I parked my car I saw him. In the middle of the rivercourt , not playing oder practising. He was just sitting there on his own. I turned off my car , went outside & shut the door, that's when he realised I was there. I walked towards him , slowly.
"Hey" was all I sagte as I bent down to him. "What's on your mind?" I asked as I brushed my fingers through his hair. He didn't answer for a few seconds. "I can't play basketball anymore." He didn't even look at me as he spoke ,like he was in a trance. "Oh , of course Du can. Babe, I know this were some hard weeks , but ..." he didn't let me finished as he spoke very clearly & loud.
"No, Brooke.I can't play basketball anymore. I have HCM." He sagte as he finally turned to look at me & that's when I realised that he was crying. I was just staring at him for minutes, I didn't dare to speak. "Brooke .. I can't play basketball anymore." he sagte as he broke down in tears. "I can't. I just Lost Keith & now I also loose basketball? I don't have anything anymore. I feel so lost... so Lost & my mom .. she's broken & I just .. I ..."
All I did was take him in my arms & rock him back & forth , because I couldn't hold my tears back either.
