Beverly Hills 90210 Article: Did Kelly actually steal Dylan?

Now don't get me wrong, I am not a Kelly and Dylan Fan (no offence to anyone). But rewatching series three lately has got me thinking, did Kelly really steal Dylan? Let's look at the facts:

•Brenda and Dylan hadn't broken up, but they had agreed to cool things down.
•Brenda met Rick, and obviously didn't feel bad enough about Dylan to not spend time with him.
•Kelly had no intention of stealing Dylan, they were just spending time together intially.
•Dylan was the one pushing for something to happen, Kelly (who did not completely resist) did use Brenda as a reason for them to put aside their feelings, Mehr than once.
•When Brenda came back, she didn't tell Dylan about Rick, and Kelly and Dylan didn't tell Brenda about them, as Brenda and Dylan resumed their relationship.
•Kelly didn't use Rick against Brenda as she could have.
•Kelly did nothing about things when brenda was back, even though Dylan kept talking to her about them.
•Kelly and Dylan only got together once Brenda broke up with Dylan.

Now, I'm not saying what Kelly did was right. She lied to her best friend, went behind her back, and did something she knew would upset Brenda very much. But did she actually steal him?

Brylannie Yeah, Kelly actually did sort of steal Dylan. She didn't really play fair or stick to her vow to not interfere in their relationship. She used what she knew to try to manipulate Dylan into thinking she was better for him and this video shows that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEZ79TG6K5s She also should've chose Brenda when she knew Brenda wasn't over Dylan, but she decided to compete with Brenda for Dylan. Selfish skank!

DanimalBr I think over 20 years history has evolved into such a lore that most people, especially Brenda/Dylan fans place the blame soley on Kelly for stealing Dylan. Now while Kelly certainly isn't completely innocent, I'm amazed at how many people let Dylan off the hook so easily. As far as im concerned he was the worst one in the triangle I'd you go back and watch the summer episodes between seasons 2 & 3, you'll definently see that Dylan was the pursuer. It's not like Kelly threw herself at him. Granite she didnt exactly be completely resistant, but she put up more of a resistant front than Dylan did. I'm not a Dylan/Kelly fan and I actually like him better with Brenda. But I have always thought that Kelly was unfairly villainized by the events of season 3 when the one everyone should have been pointing their fingers at was Dylan

90210lover99 You guys I just wanted to say how much I adore this show. Now I prefer Brenda and Dylan together. I sort of hated season 3 partly because of the Kelly / Dylan relationship. it sort of seemed phoney and like it wasn't working, because of the strong chemistry Brenda and Dylan had in the first place. They were more memorable as a couple, they mean more to me, seeing them on screen makes me happy. Kelly doesn't fit Dylan properly, it was a weak way for the storyline to go. That's why I'm not really a fan of season 3, I think it sucks. Which is odd because seasons 1 & 2 make it my favorite television programme of ALL TIME. I'm going to state that whenever I post somewhere. Seasons 1 and 2 have episodes I can watch again and again, some of what is there is so good it puts classic cinema to shame. I'm not joking, folks, we are lucky to have this show, it's simply hands down one of the greatest works of entertainment ever committed to screen.

90210lover99 Now after seeing some of season 4 and I can confirm that I only really like seasons 1 & 2 but they are so good that it makes it my favorite show of all time, because of the first two seasons, being the outright best. I personally think it was a mistake to carry on with the same characters and make them age more (they were already pretty old looking). They should have kept it in high school because it's more fun.

RoseLovesJack I love Kelly but dating Dylan was wrong she didn't steel him but they did cheet and Kelly was her friend so she should have never gone out with him

RoseLovesJack Although it's not fair that Kelly gets all the blame. Dylan did it to. When Brenda told him about rick he should have told her about Kelly plus he knew the were best friends so he never should have gone after Kelly

RoseLovesJack I did really like that when Kelly had to choose between Dylan and Brandon she didn't want to get in the way of their friendship so she choose herself

mase90210 I wouldn't say it was stealing, more like cheating. I would blame Dylan much more than Kelly as he should know better. Dylan played two women along all those years so I wouldn't put too much blame on Kelly here. Personally Dylan and Kelly was a bad choice - this couple is made not to last
