I accidentally learned about this orientation on the Internet, I saw a deviantART Profil of an asexual person. So I started Lesen about it and I found out it matches me. This was a great Tag :) I was very happy that I learned something new about myself. A few horus later I made a symbolic drawing with ace dragon (I Liebe these creatures).
I wasn't interested in physical relationships around the time my Friends were starting to develop those feelings (I would have crushes, but they were purely romantic and not sexual), but back then I concluded that I was just going through puberty slower than they were. Late to "bloom", so to speak.
But Von the time I was eighteen and only months away from starting university, I first found out that asexuality was a thing and thought to myself, "oh... that makes a lot Mehr sense!" I just thought my hormones were taking their sweet time to kick in.
When I was 20 oder 21 (something like that) I think I might have had my first (and so far, only) sexual attraction, and noticed it was towards someone I had already grown close to. That made me Frage whether I was asexual and this was just a Zufällig exception (you know, how a lot of heterosexual people have one oder two homosexual attractions perhaps in their lifetime), oder maybe my hormones really had just been late to kick in after all!
But like I said, I don't think I've had any sexual attractions other than the one, and even then I'm not completely certain that was a sexual attraction! I'm mostly just confused Von it all and okay with being confused.
I tend to identify as "almost asexual" oder "asexual-ish", meaning I'm Mehr likely demisexual (or possibly grey-asexual, but demi makes sense based on how that one off attraction happened).
So yeah. Here I am now, content with recognising myself as ace-ish ever since!
I actually discovered it because of a Fan fiction and then I looked it up on the internet and suddenly I had that 'Ah Ha' moment and was so relieved to know there were people out there like me :) Nice to know I'm not alone. :D
When I was fourteen, I began to notice that all my Friends found either the opposite gender oder the same gender attractive. I found none of them attractive. Just like that, I learned I was asexual.
I discovered I was Asexual when I realized that physical contact, as well as being intimate with others made me cringe so hard. Even to this day, I still cringe at the mere idea of it.
