While I am not looking forward to Gwen's torture and enchantment. I am looking forward to Gwen being front and center, and Arthur's reaction to his wife being kidnapped.

My guesses on the teaser:
“Sleep my lady, for it could be some time before you do again” ( my bet is that Morgana says that to Gwen).

“You’re not going to lose her. You’re not. We’re going to find her. I swear. We’ll bring her home” ( my bet Merlin to A worried Arthur).

“I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you. I know it’s not you" ( My bet, poor Gwen slowly being driven mad by seeing things thanks to whatever hell Morgana has put her through).

“I was having a dream about eating a cheese that tasted of apple pie. Anyone else have that dream? Well you’re all missing out”

That preview reminded me of an Alice in Wonderland horror film.

I think this season is turning out to be a good one.

Still not excited about this episode. The comment about dreaming about cheese that tastes like pie is funny though. I'm guessing it's Gwaine who says it.

Just a thought but “I don’t know what I’d be if it wasn't for her” might be Elyan about Gwen. (Although, the smart money would probably be on Arthur about Gwen.)

I can't wait for this episode. I too don't look forward to gwen being tortured. however, It's going to be so great to watch Arthur worrying about his beloved. Especially when they reunite. EPIC I know it....

April I thought the same thing that it was regarding Elyan but like you I would like for it to be Arthur. I am excited to see this epi too.

Angel is going to be phenomenal in this episode. Even from that preview- my God, she was fantastic. But my poor bb :\

Sorry sportyshuie we still have 5 days to go :( it will go quick though !!! I can't wait for the moments like every else is but it will also interesting to see how elyan reacts when gwen is kidnapped especially because he is right there !!! It's gonna be an amazing episode and I can't wait !!!!!

This isn't what I would call a ship episode at all I'm afraid. I'm not sure where the rumour that it is has come from, but from reading the comments left here so far I think it's best to say that now than let the arwen supporters be deeply disappointed come Sat.

Great to see Smirkgana back, she and Gwen are great together as always, I miss their friendship that they had early on in the show. And the knights have more screen time too; this feels a bit more like a quest episode that we would get in a more traditional telling of the story, which is one of the things I would love to see more of in this version too."

i'm still really excited for this episode - but feel as though i should proceed with caution .... gosh i'm so sorry to be a party pooper everyone!

Caring even less about this episode right now. Also Sandi needs to stop acting like Morgana and Gwen are going to be having girl talk and having tea and crumpets. They're great together. I miss their friendship. *shake my head*. She must mean that Katie and Angel are great in this episode.

The more I hear from this Sandi person, the less I like them.

And I just realized I'm going to be out of town this weekend and won't get to watch until Sunday afternoon (unless my bestie takes pity on me and lets me use her laptop...)

So what is this Sandi trying to say? Is Gwen still going to be in Morgana's clutches when the episode ends. Surely if she returns to Arthur we'll see that? If not, that would be extremely weird. So once again, we need to see this for ourselves and then pass judgment.

I read the comments on there and some people were assuming that this was going to be an Arwen episode so I guess that she's trying to say that it isn't. She didn't mention anything about there not being any Arwen scenes at all though so I'm sure there's at least a scene of Gwen returning to Arthur. At the very least, they need to show that.

Agreed. There has to be some kind of resolution! She's not under Morgana's care for the full 4 episodes. So yes, please don't cheat us out of a reunion even if it is non genuine with evil Gwen and what not...

It is an awkward statement in that it's clear it is an Arwen centered episode because it's about Gwen being taken and Arthur and his knights questing to retrieve her. Maybe this person means there isn't going to be those shared shippy moments we think of when we think Arwen. I hope we at least get a moment when she is returned to her husband but we shall see. The teasers alone kind of counter what whomever this is saying. It's clear Arthur is concerned about his wife and her well-being. I agree with HQ that we need to wait and see for ourselves as some might have agendas different from our own.

I think that if we get at least one scene of Arwen (or two) that is okay because the storyline is about Arwen regardless if they have actual scenes or not. Arthur is desperate to find his wife from Morgana's cutches. And I know that Angel will nail her scenes. This to me is a lot like 2.04 where we got a few Arwen scenes but we saw how much Arthur cares for Gwen. So to me that is still about Arwen.

This is so true, Ellarose. I remember last year after Hunters Heart aired how we were all saying that it was an Arwen episode even though there was not one scene of them together. The heart of it all was Arthur and Gwen and it was beautifully done. As much as I want to see a good scene, a romantic one of them, if it's handled at all like that one it will indeed be Arwen.

Regarding Sandi's recent comment about Arwen: Given the fact that Gwen gets kidnapped in the episode and Arthur goes on a quest to find her, I do not expect to get a lot of Gwen and Arthur interaction. But I do expect to get a scene at the beginning with Arthur seeing Gwen off (e.g. helping her on the horse, or Arwen exchanging a goodbye kiss), and a tender scene at the end when Gwen is rescued. It would make no sense if we did not get an Arwen send off scene at the beginning of the show, and something at the end. Also, Arwen might not have a lot of scenes together, but they will be the center of the show. A desperate husband, frantically searching for his missing wife/love of his life, thus Arwen centric.

If we do not get any interaction then- What did Gwen do, sneak off while Arthur is away on a mission? He gets the news she is gone. Arthur goes on a quest to find Gwen. He finds his queen, and has a knight or Merlin bring her back to Camelot?

I just saw this posted by someone at TV.com. Sandi came back with further comments:

"Don't despair. I didn't say there was nothing arwen in the episode, just that I get the feeling from the comments here that some are expected them to spend lots of time together being happy. Their love and strong relationship/emotions are still felt throughout it, as we would expect it to be when one half is kidnapped and held prisoner. But it's a much darker episode, kinda like the Uther one was, so just don't expect too much fluffy interaction between them. I have a feeling that we will be seeing more of their relationship in upcoming episodes"

"It's not what I would call a ship heavy episode, as in it's not happy and/or light. It's quite a dark episode, so we see the concern/worry/panic side of their love for each other rather than holding hands/kissing side. There is one *very* brief moment towards the end of the episode which is a situation that some arwen fans have wanted to see this year, but there is a twist to that scene so, again, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a positive shipping moment. Thou I can see more of their their relationship being told in future episodes. Sorry if that's a bit vague, I just don't want arwen supporters to have false expectations of this episode, especially as I see Gwen as finally coming more to the foreground. Angel is fab in this episode, and I think/hope that we are finally starting to see an arc for her this season."

^I think this is what most of us were expecting anyway. I don't really know who would be expecting an episode with Gwen being tortured and being turned evil to be full of warm fuzzy moments. C'mon now.

^Exactly. We knew it wasn't going to be Queen of Hearts or anything but since it focuses on Gwen and Arthur's search for her the Arwen nation has plenty to look forward to.

I agree with you guys, Ellarose and HQ! Episodes like 'The Hunter's Heart' and 'Lancelot and Guinevere' were Arwen centric in that the couple were at the heart of the episode the whole time - it doesn't have to be focussed on them together for the audience to feel their love. I wasn't expecting 5x06 to be a cute and fluffy episode anyway due to the inclusion of psycological torture and the forewarning that this is the darkest episode in the series yet.

As to the twist at the end, I'm guessing that she's been enchanted by Morgana by then, so she doesn't really mean it (whatever 'it' is!).

Right. About that thing near the end which "some Arwen fans have wanted to see," no doubt it's either a kiss or them in the bed. Can't think of anything else we've wanted. Whatever it is, of course the problem will be that Gwen is not right and is under Morgana's influence.

Dammit, so we might finally get a kiss or a bed scene and Gwen will be faking it the whole time. These damn writers are having a laugh. We better get a proper scene when she's back to herself again.

well you never know - they may parallel it with a proper kiss or bed scene when she's de-enchanted - that's what i'd like to think anywho :)

No, I don't expect in such an episode to have them frolicking in fields like puppies chasing butterflies and if dimwit means that oh we get the first Arwen kiss of the season but the double edged sword is that she is enchanted so therefore it is not a loving kiss though it looks like it, well duh. That is called a plot. *rolls eyes*

Ok. I'm weird. I kind of like it. I like the plot of whatever it is that has the twist and she's in whatever state she's in. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do it. This requires good acting on the part of our beloveds and we're finally going to have our Gwen front and center and all that means. It's going to be fun seeing this. We know this time the truth comes out in the end so let's see what they do with this.

Now that I remember it, this Sandi was a big help last year letting us know what was coming in the final episodes. I think she's trying to be helpful about people not getting hopes up, because I was at that site just now to see for myself and I get the distinct feeling Sandi is trying to be helpful because the nature of some of the questions seems certain Arwen people were anxious to see actual Arwen romantic scenes and she is just not wanting to see them get disappointed. Her saying that their love and strong relationship are felt throughout was pretty much the same as we're expecting so she seems to be pretty fair, so I agree with you, 2Sam and thanks. I'm in love with positive folks!

HQ in agreement with the Gwen being can't wait to see Gwen being front and center. I adore Angel and can't wait to see what she does with this. This is the first epi I have been really excited to see since the first epi.

I've actually had the pleasure of conversing with Sandi and I can say she is not a Merthur. She's a fan of the show. I believe she was trying to make sure those who were asking questions were not disappointed with what she thought they might be expecting of the episode.

Can't wait for the episode I really want Saturday to come and I am so happy that gwen will take centre stage and angel acting is going to be amazing. Wish there is going to be ARWEN scenes<3<3<3

I know I can come across as very direct in general and I'm not known for mincing my words (just ask Andy, lol), so apologies if I ever come across as such. I found it quite hard to word that original comment, it went through a number of edits trying to find a way of letting down the arwen commenters here who seemed to be looking forward to moments between the two.

I felt in a bit of an awkward position as I thought it was best to say from the start that they shouldn't expect too much, which is why I said I didn't consider it to be the shipper episode some were expecting. Unfortunately, I then went to bed (Mondays are a very busy day for me) so missed being able to put the record straight right away that I didn't mean that there was no arwen sentiment in it. I hope the matter is cleared up now thou :)

I managed to watch ep 7 last night, so far I think we're right in thinking we'll see more of Gwen, she's finally getting more screen time :D I just hope that she doesn't get sidelined again once this puppet Queen thing is through :\

Gotta agree with Sandi on that last bit. I hope she doesn't get sidelined again after this storyline ends. It'd be nice to see her have scenes which aren't centred around abuse and losing her agency. Lucerne I think it was you who posted the summary for the rest of the episodes for this series which said that Gwen and Elyan had an episode coming up in 5x10, I think. I hope that turns out to be true and that it's an episode which will focus on her family background. I think it's about time that we found out what happend to her mother.

I think I may have been the one to say that, BB, but now I'm seeing people talking as if Elyan gets killed in Ep 6. I saw today that he was removed from the cast listing of episode 8 that BBC released. It's a bit confusing and I haven't had a chance to check into eps 7 or 9. In the back of my head I thought I heard Ade isn't listed in 7 either but I can't swear to that. Hmmmmmm. If those rumors are true about him getting killed in in 6, then that may explain her wearing the black dress in 7. Now where did I hear she wore the black dress in 7? Can't remember. I better go to bed now, I'm starting to confuse myself.
