There are many wonderful aspects of Merlin, and there are many aspects that disappoint me.
Here are some thoughts and suggestions:
Merlin/Arthur:
The relationships between Merlin and Arthur have long been a central point of the show. With the growing romance between Arthur and Guinevere, Merlin has become less involved. Although the relationship between Gwen and Arthur is wonderful, Merlin should not be put on the backburner.
The relationship between Merlin and Arthur should no longer consist of childish pranks. They need a mature respectful relationship.
NO Mehr of Arthur with his pants down!
Arthur/Guinevere:
Arthur and Guinevere have amazing chemistry that draws many people toward the show.
Queen Gwen should still be allowed on adventures and should NOT become a fixture in the castle.
Mehr heartfelt/ passionate scenes between Arthur and Gwen.
Possible pregnancy storyline in the late season. However, during this time, Arthur still cares for Gwen and spends time with her.
Guinevere making important decisions with Arthur, as his equal.
A flashback of the wedding day. I feel that the scene was rushed and would enjoy Mehr depth into this important moment.
4.09 Enchantment:
The Verzaubert braclet from Lancelot Du Lac should be revealed. Arthur and Gwen deserve to know the truth about the incident.
Gwen should not have to hate herself for something she couldn't control.
Morgana:
Though I doubt Morgana will ever become a force of good again, I still would like to see some justification for her.
Better plans for Morgana, not invloving Verzaubert jewelry as usual.
Mehr depth into her character.
Morgana/Mordred:
I would like for them to become closer in series 5.
Merlin:
Merlin needs a little Mehr excitement in his life. ( A girlfriend? Maybe?)
Merlin seems awfully depressed this season and isn't really Schauspielen like himself.
Magic:
The magic used in the series in predictable, mainly because it is all the same. I would like to see some new creative magic in the show.
Merlin/Emrys and Morgana:
Sooner rather than later, I would like Morgana to discover than Merlin is Emrys.
Gwen/Elyan:
A confrontation in which Gwen asks Elyan why he never supported her.
Magic Reveal:
This is a very important point in the series which we all know is coming. This should not be rushed but played out slowly and carefully.
I feel that the first person to discover Merlin's magic should be Gwen. She has been Merlin's friend since he arrived in Camelot and would be able to listen to Merlin and understand him.
The only way to justify Merlin's magic in Arthur's eyes would be for Merlin to save Guinevere's life in some way. (Going along with the baby idea, Morgana curses Guinevere so that she will die while giving birth. Merlin uses magic to save Gwen and the baby.)
Merlin/Morgana:
A confrontation between Merlin and Morgana late in the season where Arthur is once again saved Von magic - Merlin's magic.
Arthur's Mother:
Arthur should find out the truth about his birth, for real this time.
