I've watched pokemon since I was in 1st grade. I never thought about animal abuse.

Actually I haven't thought of it that way,yet you bring up an interesting point in some ways because MANY of the Pokemon are based on Animals,and ActuallyIN JAPAN,Pokemon IS a TEENAGERS (13+)anime,in the dub they censored and removed MANY things,not only that but they have banned episodes making the show for children the show is NOT supposed be for kids,If you see the show in Japanese it's COMPLETELY different.,truthfully I haven't thought of it that way..I mean I guess if you looked at Shiniji the beginning of the D/P series I guess you can make that argument on the way he treats his pokemon,and again some Pokemon are NOT based on animals,like I said before Pokemon was not intended to be a children's show the dub just makes it seem that way ._.

you left out the fact that our animals cannot learn element manipulating attacks like pokemon can, pokemon is about friendship and teamwork and other stuff like that, there are other animal much more guilty of things like animal abuse but i do see where you are coming from
