Ryan Murphy has 'two ideas' for the next 'American Horror Story'

ended with twist. Kathy Bates’ Iris died by suicide, only to be given new life by her son Donovan’s blood. So does that mean Iris now suffers from the show’s “form of hemophilia,” a.k.a. vampirism?

Speaking at the first-ever EW Fest on Saturday, Bates confirmed Iris’ fate while discussing what

“I try not to drink any of that,” Bates said of the corn syrup, before adding, “I have to drink it soon.”

As for her onscreen relationship with Donovan, played by Matt Bomer, Bates isn’t sure she would describe the mother-son duo as “unpleasant.”

“I thought we were complicated and troubled,” Bates said to EW’s Tim Stack.
