How is Goku Jr Pan Grandson?

I agree that the movie says that Goku Jr is Pan Grandson but is that possible. I think the math to say when Goku Jr was born at 877 and he 12 in 889. So how is Goku Jr Pan Grandon unless Pan gave birth in her older years oder she grow slower than normal?
