They made a mess of the film

Yeah, it was all messed up and twisted.

The film was like someone read the books and put all the information on notecards and then shuffled up the notecards and called it a movie.

I was very disappointed with the movie.
I'm surprised that anyone said they liked the movie better, I'm guessing none of them have read the books.

i liked sum parts of the movie but they stuffed it up by combining the first 3 books together and solving the mystery without even including anything about VFD wich is kind of what the books are all about in the end... does anyone know if they are making more movies?

I surely doubt there are more movies to come. I was younger when it came out, and I was a BIG FAN. I was so excited for the movie and I had such a crush on Liam Aiken.. Then I saw it and got quite upset.. It was a comedy. Even Jim Carrey said that he shouldn't have been cast!

oh god, there's not even a reason on earth why i would chose the movie! it freaking SUCKED! i hated how it skipped around in the first few books and it was horrible, yuck..worst movie ever that's been based on books.

The movie was good but, the books are so much more wonderful! You can really get your imagination going to see every Character. The books are way much bigger than the movie was. Overall the movie was a 5 out of a 10.

Im reading the books Im on book 7 but I sall the movie when I was a kid.

I think they are both wonderful. I'm one of those people who gets stoked that the movie is being made- hopefully it will make more people want to read it. Plus, no matter how it differs from the book, I always love the movie. It's a... weakness? I guess I always end up judging it as a movie, not an adaption, and just see it as an added bonus when the movie is accurate.

As a stand alone, I though the movie was quite good. I quite enjoyed it. As an adaption, however, it didn't come up to scratch, with the main reason being the wedding happening after the events in the third book.

Like when Count Olaf said "Roast beef is a swedish word for beef that is roasted." Well what a very good definiton there, baby, but I think everyone could see what roast beef is by just reading the name. And of course it's depressing! It's called "A Series of Unfortunate Events", not "A Series of Hillarious Events".
