Episode 7
Gordon, and The Inspector
One morning, Sir Tophamm Hat woke up the engines with exciting news, "An inspector will be here to check on our railway. Gordon," he continued, "You must take the inspector from Knapford to Ulfstead Castle. Make the ride as smooth as possible."
"Yes sir," sagte Gordon proudly.
"Would Du like me to get your train ready?" Asked Thomas.
"Thank Du Thomas. I appreciate that very much." Replied Gordon.
So it was settled. Thomas was getting Gordon's train ready at Knapford. When all the coaches were at the station, he saw some freight cars being pushed off the rails. Henry was carelessly pushing the freight cars.
"Be careful Henry!" sagte Thomas, "We don't want to cause any damage during the inspector's visit."
The freight cars weren't hurt, but they were cross. All Henry could say was, "I just don't know what went wrong." Then he moved away from the freight cars, and went towards thirty Mehr cars.
"Yeah," replied Thomas rudely, "It's a mystery."
As Henry was pushing the long line of cars towards the station, he was being stupid, and saw Gordon's train that Thomas shunted. "Nice work Thomas." Then, without knowing it, Henry uncoupled himself from the cars.
They rolled downhill, and Thomas rushed behind them, and tried to push. His wheels spun forward, but he couldn't make the cars stop. He got pushed into some buffers, and Henry came to see him, "Are Du Okay Thomas? Anything I can do to help?"
Thomas was soon frightened, "No! Nothing! For Sir Topham Hatt's sake, just sit there, and do nothing!"
So that's what Henry did, but he soon forgot, and pushed Thomas, and the freight cars off the tracks. "Whoops. My bad." Puffed Henry.
Back at the station, Gordon got coupled to his train. The inspector got in, and Gordon waited for the conductor to blow his whistle, and wave the green flag.
"Yay Gordon! Woohoo!!" Shouted Henry. Thomas just rolled his eyes, and waited for Harvey, and Rocky to get him back on the rails.
Gordon's conductor blew his whistle, and waved his green flag. Gordon started too quickly. It was a while since Sir Topham Hatt had Gordon pull passenger trains. He was forced to pull freight for three weeks after accusing Sean for replacing him.
"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" Shouted Gordon to the coaches.
"You're going too fast! You're going too fast!" Complained the coaches.
Gordon didn't care. He wanted to please the inspector, and tried going faster. The coaches on the other hand, knew that the inspector didn't want Gordon to go too fast.
"You need to stop! Du need to stop!" sagte the coaches, and they bumped into Gordon, making him come to a complete stop.
"What is it?" Asked Gordon. "You banged the coaches hard enough to cause a leak in the brakes."
Gordon knew it was the other way around, but he stayed silent. The driver, fireman, and conductor examined the damage. "How shall we mend it?" Asked the conductor.
"We'll use some newspaper, and a bootlace." Replied the driver. "But where is the bootlace coming from?" asked the fireman? The only passenger on the train was the inspector, and they went to him immediately.
They got a bootlace from him, and tied the newspaper over the hole. Gordon soon started up again, and continued to Ulfstead Castle.
After the ride, the inspector gave a bad review about Gordon to Sir Topham Hatt, and whatever happens next, is another story.
